The sun is shining (a bit) so I'm gonna to try and catch some good light for my photoshoot with Jeff. Even if I don't succeed, I will share the result later today. If you haven't caught up with the Making Of yet, here's the final WIP on this project:)

I just rewatched one of my favorite videos of Jensen and Jared from the panel at Comic Con 2010. While a fan asks Kripke a question, Jared is helpfully pouring water in Jensen's glass but goes a bit overboard (he thinks he's so funny) and then in retaliation Jensen's hand disappears under the table...

In the words of the best J2 Tumblr tag (kudos to [livejournal.com profile] sillie82)

(There is no fire, it's too warm, there was even sunshine and blue skies today. WTH?)

A couple of posts ago I talked about how I fail at free time. Instead of doing housework or other "useful" adult stuff, I get distracted by the internet and often end up scrolling for hours and reading and such. Someone asked for more specifics, so here's the foreplay one of my favorite distractions: Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson .

Since I had a hard time keeping the different conversations through the years apart, I have now made a list of all nine precious talks.
If you've never watched these two hang out together, here's one of my favorites to start with*

Jeff and Craig, sitting in a tree... )

FYI: In between taking notes for these vids I DID actually do some cleaning! Now I only need to vacuum tomorrow and I'm done for the year. \o/

I had this post planned for months as a final countdown to the concert in Antwerp on November 9 and then stupid Panic! at the Disco cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances" which we later found out meant a performance at Miss Universe in Moscow. So we worried about the boys for nothing, hrmpf. Despite my disappointment I'm still gonna play this song though. Because it's catchy and appropriate for the season and because it reminds me of good (fangirl) times. :-p

This does NOT mean you are forgiven, Panic. *glares*

Today's chores were all computer-related. I've updated my Art Masterlist and did some designing for my personal website. I'm trying to make it presentable enough for potential employers... I've also updated my curriculum vitae and have been browsing job- and training websites. Have not find anything worthwile yet, but the rest of the afternoon and evening is for fun, yay!

Since I love complaining, allow me to make a couple of grumpy statements.

Oh, Weather | Oh, Livejournal | Oh, Fandom )

Here, have a wonderful genderswapped version of that ludicrous song Blurred Lines. Hopefully this will educate people who didn't understand why the lyrics and video of the original are problematic: Mod Carousel (a Seattle based boylesque troupe)

So guess whose Hogwarts house colours are "bee-like" yellow and black (I'm quoting J.K. herself here!)? Heehee \o/

Before I go back to Pottermore, I wanted to link you to my mod-post in [livejournal.com profile] nickngreg. Because I'm so fricking proud we finally found the best way to share classic fanvideos with the community: WE HAVE OUR OWN NICK&GREG YOUTUBE NOW :-)

Here's a glorious example of the marvelous fanvideos we share there. [livejournal.com profile] tanisafan made this for meeeeeeeeeeee years ago and I still LOVE it. Lyrics and beat of the song in perfect harmony with memorable Nick/Greg scenes. Bliss.

Also: if any of you old Nick/Greg fangirls (boys) out there feels inspired to write about these two (and how they are doing now when they're getting ready to go back to work in SEASON 12 (TWELVE!!), why not give our author and artist challenge a shot? Pretty please?

I'm still struggling with my artwork for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang. I'm trying to do something completely different from the SPN_J2 BigBang, but I haven't managed to get a good grip on the design yet. I'm planning to lock myself in the house this weekend and not sleep until it's done. I'm looking forward to that, actually (mostly because I will motivate myself with tons of chocolate;)

Glee premiered on Dutch TV yesterday with a double feature of the first two episodes. Based on the squee on my flist I had expected something as funky as the BBC's Beautiful People. But unfortunately it did not even come close. I didn't feel a connection with any of the (rather cliché) characters and the painful jokes fell flat. I had been hoping for another series to get into, but this is not the one for me.

Have some Beautiful People )

I'm still clinging to The Big Bang Theory, which is on every weekday. I'm not too happy when the focus is on Leonard's crush for Penny, but I so love it when Sheldon gets all scientific on any subject. Plus I covet his clothes. If only I was a tall skinny guy.

ETA: Jelle got a bit upset about my response to Glee (in my Dutch Blog). *bites lip* Maybe I should give it another try next week?

As it turns out my last author's today is my tomorrow, so I'm currently on hold to unlock my third Big Bang post. I've even done the dirty dishes to kill some time. *grins*

I also wrote a couple of short bookreviews and planned my trip to Amsterdam tomorrow.

After that I tried to figure out if I still can go see Tim Minchin in London in December. I really want to see the man on stage, but I found out this orchestra-tour is more of a stadium-gig than a theatre performance and now I don't know if that would be worth it for me. There will be tons of people and the stage is relatively far away, right? Plus it's on a Tuesday which means I will have to take at least two, but preferably three days off to get to the UK and back...

I love him to bits and pieces though. I fell for his atheist lyrics and if you are into that I recommend his brilliant If You Open Your Mind Too Much, Your Brain Will Fall Out (Take My Wife), but to show you he also writes wonderful non-religion-related songs, I picked this one: If you really love me... )
See what I mean? How awesome would it be to see him live? I'm going to postpone my decision until after the BigBang and Amsterdam. What to do, what to do?

This animation is shown on local tv every Christmas (on a loop every hour!) It's probably only funny if you understand Dutch, but I'm promoting it anyway;) It's the story of the birth of a baby in Bethlehem Mariaparochie, a tiny village in the east of The Netherlands, told in dialect. This is the final song; a bit of a tongue in cheek call out for peace.

For those of you who can/want to sing along: I posted lyrics in my Daily Dutch Blog!

"Don't think you're not good enough and life is useless
because the Christmas bells are also ringing for a loser like you.
Even if you're in jail or gay, at the end of December I love you too."

... and so on. Peace, people! Merry randon Friday in December :-)

I could have gone with the 10th dimension video my favorite boy tweeted about, but I still haven't been able to watch the whole thing (I managed until the fourth dimension, since that's as far as I understand it:)

Instead, you get a vid that popped up in the [livejournal.com profile] atheism community. I love it and the song has been stuck in my head ever since I watched it, sing-a-long!

Ooooh, this is LJ-post #992... Eight to go:)
