Second target achieved! [Weightloss part two]
Wow, how is it autumn already? Can't believe I've been too busy since August to post here! I do have a lot of long image posts planned, as I still want to share my Land of Art creations from the previous round and I've made quite a few cool trips in the past few weeks (months;) that I want to do picspams of.
There have also been interesting developments at work: I'll be going on an actual business trip tomorrow! It's my first ever and I will be traveling all the way to the UK to work on an awesome new international mapping project. When our department was approached about this a couple of weeks ago, one of my senior colleagues asked me to join the small team and the project has already been very exciting to work on so far; the trip to the UK is icing on the cake:)
I only just got home from my vacation in Japan, and in the spare days in between I've been catching up at work and on my fandom moderating duties at home (SPN ReverseBang and the NicknGreg Tumblr amongst other things).
I will tell you about all of that when I get back next week and things will hopefully settle down enough for some playtime online;)
Before I rush off again, I do however want to post an update on that personal project I started at the end of March: my weightloss effort. Today I stepped on the scale again after having skipped a week because of the aforementioned travels, which included lots of Japanese food, but also lots of walking (and climbing stairs!) to see the sights. I feel really good in my skin right now; on this trip I noticed a couple of fun benefits from having already lost quite some weight: from sitting comfortably on a plane and easily bending down to reach stuff on the floor when needed, to the joy of being able to wrap myself into a standard hotel towel after a shower \o/
So I didn't really care whether I'd lost or gained any weight, but it was a lovely bonus that I managed to reach my second target today!
( Numbers under the cut )
I'm very proud of myself for trying new and odd food in Japan and for actually enjoying the daunting task of finding fascinating little restaurants for dinner (I never eat out at home). One of many amusing moments was that night when I had forgotten to bring the fork that I had saved from the flight to Tokyo and I was finally forced to try and eat with chopsticks. A nice lady next to me saw me struggle and offered a slow demonstration on how to best hold them:) It took some time, but I did finish all my bowls, even the sticky rice to the last grain, woohoo!
(If you want a sneak peek of my time in Japan; check out my Instagram!)
