Attempt to ignore annoying subject failed

You know how in The Simpsons neighbour Flanders always makes up his own words or extends existing words with a heydiddeleedo of some kind? I used to think that was kind of funny. But my new babbling co-worker is doing this in real life and it's annoying as hell. (I doubt he has got it from watching the Simpsons, he's not aware of pop- or any other culture)
He also changes everybody's name to some sort of kiddie-variety and seems to think he needs to tell us about every single detail of his day and night. With every other phrase he utters, the chance of me punching him in the face increases.
But the worst thing happens during our lunchbreak. The original co-workers -who stay over and eat in the kitchen- sit quietly and read. It's a nice and relaxing break from work.
Not so much now with babbling co-worker, who obviously can not handle the silence and keeps talking about the most uninteresting stuff you can imagine.

Why are you telling me this? Why should I care? I don't care, I'm trying to read.

One more day until the weekend. Half a day, technically. I'm counting the minutes.

ETA: Not everything is bad. He is the only guy who actually changes the toilet roll when needed. But he puts the new one on the wrong way 'round, I have to substract points for that.

Dude, I hate mindless people. There is no way I can ignore him, he even calls out when he leaves the kitchen and he won't go without me acknowledging his departure. He will keep on saying my name until I actually look up and say goodbye. Not for the weekend or for the day, but simply for having finished lunch and going back to work. I fear he will not be able to catch a hint.
