Thank you:) It felt like there was construction going on all over town.
Camden changed a bit since I was there last: I found my favorite high-tea place near Camden Lock was no longer cute anymore, so I retract my previous recommendation for that (last year iirc). I still highly recommend Camden High Street for shoe-shopping \o/ and I always have to buy something at Chain Reaction (208 Chalk Farm Road).
As for Covent Garden: that is such a tiny area, I'm sure you'll find all the good stuff all by yourselves;) Get your hotelbath supplies there at Lush or any of the other scenty-shops.
I absolutely LOVED the place where mom and I went for food on Friday; Mother Mash has lovely staff and delicious food (plus weird ass drinks, but not for me;), you find it in an alley halfway Carnaby street (turn towards Regent Street) next to an American-Diner type place called -ehm- The Diner. Oh, look, a website: http://www.mothermash.co.uk/
Another non-Covent Garden/Camden rec: if you want to torture yourself with looking at pretty you can never buy, you should go to the huge Liberty store on Great Marlborough Street (between Regent and Carnaby) - it is very posh.
