Wet 'n' Wild
Had some waterfun in the kitchen this afternoon... Received a phonecall this morning that my new washingmachine was available: they will deliver it tomorrow afternoon! They will also take care of my old broken machine, so I went to disconnect it to get it ready for transport. I thought I had closed the waterdrain, but when I loosened the tube from the tap, a fountain of water came rushing out! It must have looked like a slapstick movie with me soaking wet trying to put the tube back against the neverending waterspray.
Several hilarious minutes later I was standing up to my ankles in a big puddle of water.
Before I continued, I went down the (six) stairs to my basement to close the main waterdrain. When I got back upstairs I used water pump pliers to turn the -still dripping- drain and found I indeed hadn't close it all the way (duh). I guess after fifteen years of not turning that knob, it was kind of stuck;)
I must say I was amazed by the waterpower from that tap; I wish I had that much pressure in my shower!
I don't have a mop, so I used a dustpan to scoop most of the water into a bucket before I could eventually finish it off with a floorcloth, pfff. It took me a while to get everything dry again; the water had also sprayed the walls, all the stuff on top of the freezer and the countertop. Oh well, my kitchen floor has never been that clean before *grins*, so all's well that ends well:)
I lifted the old machine on a moving dolly, so I can roll it right to the top of the stairs tomorrow. I'm ready for my new washingmachine!

Oh, wow! How annoying! At least you have a clean floor now! Sorry to hear your old machine broke down - congrats on a new. Guess it will be great to get in installed.
My oven and my washer broke a couple of years ago, and I was so glad I could order online and have it delivered and installed, and have them take the old ones. :-)
Nice to see some more of your kitchen.... gave me some more impression of how it looks! :-) (but only a little)
