I guess you are always going to come across someone who wants to be mean. After all, she is selling tickets so you are hardly there to buy a sandwich or something :D

We had some difficulty when my friend was doing her curt English at the ticket seller on the Metro, but I think he was just being an asshole to her. His attitude quickly changed when a guy in my group, who is fluent in French, stepped up and took over from her.
