I understand it's quite an impressive gadget
Technically the weekend is not part of the vacation, so I can still get some work-related stuff off my chest before I quit thinking about the job, right?
the stand-up stool the bossman ordered without my knowledge turns out to not be suitable for my back. Duh. The wheels lock when I sit down, but the stool itself still swirls around. Eeep. I received a copy from the letter the company-insurance-physician sent to the boss. It stated what I discussed with her: I should be allowed to start an hour later in the mornings (on sickleave) so I can fully recover from stress and related physical injuries. (I assure you this is not a cunning plan to be able to sleep in) The bossman wants to talk about this, but it will have to wait until next year... I didn't go to the Christmas-drinkie after work on Friday. I remembered last year's "party" and I managed to find the courage to let the boss and co-workers know I really don't like hanging in a crowded bar and socialize. Nothing personal. They were very nice and I got to go home with fresh-smelling clothes. Yay! By way of Christmas-bonus it's customary companies give their employees a package for the holidays. Usually it's filled with yummie food. Two years ago our boss decided that was too boring and picked fancy gadgets to emphasize our office is hip and happening (NOnonononono: food is always gooooooooood!). This year the co-workers all got a navigation-system. I don't have a car, so I got an Ipod-Nano. Hmmm, now why didn't I have one of those? Right. Excuse the eyeroll, I'm an ungrateful bitch.
Since I was so very late sending my Christmascards this year and most of those cards will not make it on time, I am hereby wishing everybody "Fijne Feestdagen" (Happy Holidays;) Next year I will be better prepared for the season. Yesterday I couldn't resist the pretty snow outside and took pictures that will surely make it onto the cards for 2008 *g*. Want to pick one for next year? Blue skies and white trees
Update on life:
The back is behaving beyond expectations. The computer isn't: every time I start up I get the ominous message that the Hard Disk is BAD and needs to be REPLACED. I've been backing up files all day today. I collected a lot of new music since this computer was build in March (Thank you flist!;)
Brotherdearest will help me replace the disk on Wednesday, so I don't have to go without a computer while the old disk is being operated on. Until then I'm hoping the computer will stay alive, because I now have time to catch up on comments and mail. It doesn't look good though: while writing this post I've had to restart about four times (5? 6? I stopped counting after a while).
So tonight I'm gonna give the puter a break and finally watch the last CSI-eppie...if I'm brave I'll do a double feature and also rewatch the first part of that story-line...
(I am trying to find the fun in the Ipod, really. I think I might be able to turn it into a stand-alone player with one of those speakersets?)

I had an iPod for two years. During those two years, it crashed about once a month (with me having to reset it and losing all my music) and right after the two-year warranty ran out, it died for good. But I tend to get very addicted to gadgets like that, so I'm bravely not spending my money on another one ;). Even so, it's really cool of your boss (I got a 20€ gift coupon :P).
You got actual snow that wasn't industrial waste? Boo, no fair ;). I am digging the awesome panorama photo. So pretty!
Sorry to hear that the compy is still being a bitca. Hold on, hard drive, you can do it!
(You're very brave for watching the latest ep. I haven't had the courage yet. But then, I was writing N/G fic, so that's clearly the better option *g*.)

Sadly the snow already disappeared - it wasn't much to begin with.
You have to watch it. We need to talk. Be brave! I watched "You Kill Me" afterwards as an antidote to drama!Warrick;) Oooooh, fic. *bounces*

Good luck on the computer problems! *crosses fingers for you*

Thanks, I really want to finally finish Greg's Season 2 hairguide. Why does the puter always get sick when I have oodles of time? Grumble.
