Final post of today: Music MEME!

Taken from [livejournal.com profile] xxshow_girlxx as a reward for actually getting one right.
I suck at these, hope you do better. I've added a lot of new bands to my playlist recently, thanks to the flist. I only heard some of these songs for the first time myself, but there are some golden oldies in there as well.

I took care of step 1 and 2, the rest is up to you:
Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 37 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING! (But it's your karma, so whatever;)
Step 5: If you like the game post your own!

Actually, I'm not very good at these kind of meme's either, but I recognized a few...

4) Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over
13) Afgdh, I know this song... 'Laat Me (Maar Alleen)'? Don't know from who.
24) Pipi Langkous! XD
35) Sophie Ellis Bextor - Get Over You

Hey, you guessed four, that puts you in (shared) first place! Not so good, HA! I bet you know more;)

Sing-a-long:
"Hey, Pippi Langkous, tjollehee, tjollehee, tjolle-hopsasa
Hey Pippi Langkous, die doet haar eigen zin!"

[identity profile] chemfishee.livejournal.com 2008-02-04 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oooooh! I'm so snagging this one.

6 - "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" (I don't know which version you played, but please don't let it be the Bee Gees one. :P)

27 - "King For A Day" (Green Day)

29 - "Wave Of Mutilation" (Pixies... and I'm ashamed that I had to think more than a minute about this one)

34 - "To You I Bestow" (Mundy)
ext_63196: (Kiss)

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You are correct:)

Wow, a lot of people recorded #6. I only know the Marvin Gaye-version. I probably got it from brotherdearest.
Heh, out of these four, only Green Day is a song I selected for my playlist myself. The Pixies are from Tanni and I now suspect Mundy is from one of your fanmixes;)

[identity profile] fred-bear.livejournal.com 2008-02-04 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
15 - You can't always get what you want (the Rolling Stones)

17 - You're Gorgeous (by BabyBird I think)

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Both are correct:)

[identity profile] explorer0713.livejournal.com 2008-02-04 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, darn it - chemfishee took the only one I knew. And it better be the Bee Gees.

Why the first 37 titles? Why such an odd number? I think I'll put this on my blog - but with a normal number.
ext_63196: (David)

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-02-05 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Ehm, it wasn't: I played the Marvin Gaye version (which I probably got from my little brother;)

Heh. Most memes are funky with their numbers or instructions, I usually fine-tune them to my own taste, but I like 37, it's not odd! Well, okay, it's odd, but not weird;) It's really just as random as say 25 or 50.
*pats 37 to boosts its selfesteem*

[identity profile] explorer0713.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
You're right. The last thing we need is a 37 going bad and running wild dur to self-esteem issues.

meme

14 - Tribute (Tenacious D)
(Bit disappointed I got only one... but I knew some of the ones mentioned above..really! And I knew 26, but couldn't stand it, so I googled it..)

Re: meme

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
And that first line is totally true, too:)

If you didn't google any other song, you are still allowed to play. I won't post the answers until the end of February:-p

18) The Killers - Great Big Sled
32) Bugger, this is a Belgian band, isn't it? Oh, wait. Zornik - Scared of Yourself. I'm so daft.
37) I know this, too. Come one, work, brain, work! /Xander
(Okay after singing off-key to myself for a couple of minutes: The Kooks - She moves in her own way?)
ext_28210: (road less travelled)

[identity profile] tanisafan.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh and #31 is Tom Jones - Sex Bomb. Damn, can't believe how long that took me, hee.
ext_63196: (Kiss)

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, now who is responsible for putting The Killers on my playlist. It might be the same person that provided Zornik and The Kooks *g*

I personally picked Tom Jones, but it's the version with Mousse T, since I have the complete collecion with the upgraded funky combo's. My favorite is "Mama told me not to come" with Stereophonics:)

Your score: four! So far you're in the lead together with [livejournal.com profile] chemfishee and [livejournal.com profile] artistic_sillie Yay!

(Anonymous) 2008-02-07 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
21 = Gorillaz - 19-2000
ext_63196: (David)

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That is correct. Well done, Anon!

[identity profile] lin71.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
This is a meme that's hard to resist!
#36: Major Tom by Peter Schilling, I think
ext_63196: (Kiss)

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You are right:) Your comment also reminded me I was supposed to post these songs. Will do this weekend *g*

Also: hi! Have we met?

[identity profile] lin71.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, we never met, at least not that I know (although I'm from Holland as well). But I've seen some of your posts before, I guess on csicons or a comm. like that. Or at some Nick/Greg community. Because although I'm a Warrick/Nick girl myself (points at icon), I can appreciate Nick/Greg slash as well.

The song I guessed gave me a major 80's flashback, by the way!

[identity profile] beelikej.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I appreciate the pretty of the Warrick/Nick combination, but I only see Nick/Greg in canon;)

Ooooh, I suspect we are of the same G-g-g-generation. Cool! *shakes your hand*
