Yesterday it was freezing and frosty and there was this amazing sunrise and a lovely view inside the bus as well...

Today there was a blizzard and lots of snow... and I had to work. I wasn't sure if the busses were going, but I cycled to the busstop anyway;)

The bus was about twenty minutes late. But at least it was going! Slowly but surely I finally got back to my bike around 18.30.

Yesterday it was about 40C here! Today it's only meant to get to 26C and it has been raining which has helped with some of the bushfires. Quite a world apart from what you're having!

I prefer the cold over the heat, so I'm loving this weather. It's only the hassle of traveling that's worrying me.

Uh... that's warm! Currently it's about -14C here, which I think it's a bit too cold, but it's better than having it too warm!

-14C? Wow. I can't even imagine that temperature. It's -1C here and I'm already having problems making my bed warm enough to survive the night. How do you manage?

-1C isn't cold! That is just nice :-)
When it get's below -10C I think it's starting to be uncomfortable. But really - the houses in Norway are really well insulated. We have WARM houses, they are made to keep the warmth in and the cold out. I have a helluva electricity bill though, because all my radiators are on full right now, and it isn't quite warm enough, I need some fire wood to warm up my fire place as well. Not so easy to go out and buy that without a car though!

last night, I had a full pajamas and two duvet's on me.... But then I have no heating on in my bedroom, so that room is really cold. (but there is heating in the foundation, so it's not completely un-heated, but I doubt there is more than 14C in that room) I can't sleep in a heated room though, because then I get migraines, so I rather keep it ice cold and then put lots and lots of blankets on top of me. I have some really old, thick, 100% wool blankets, double lenght(weigh a ton) that is really good to put on top of the duvet on a cold winter night. You end up sweating no matter how cold the room is!

I hope the temperature doesn't drop even more though, because at it is now I have trouble getting the house warm enough just with electricity, and I remember too well last winter when I was out of fire wood and it was -25C. That was freezing!

It's not so much snow here though - because as you probably know - when it's this cold it doesn't snow. So it's only a thin layer of snow, but it's nice and dry snow, just as I like it. It's the kind of snow where it 'squeeks' when you walk on it, and that means it isn't wet and it isn't icy, so it is really comfortable to walk on.
