Hey, MTV, hey, hey, remember when those letters meant something?

Oh hi MTV, I didn't even know you were still showing musicvideos, but yes, I do like to participate in a poll to pick the best one of the 2000s. What is that you say? I should only vote for lady Gaga, because apparently all the music that came before her is already out of date? Well, excuse me for voting for my favorite instead. I don't even know the video you promote. (FYI: the only other video I remember is Hey Ya by Outkast and even though I LOVE Greenday, I don't have a visual for that song. Must be because I always seem to miss the times MTV actually shows musicvideos.) Way to be impartial. Did you maybe already invite her for a big hoohaa at the awardsceremony? Sucks to be you then. Go congratulate the winners;)

Okay, fine, Panic! At The Disco hasn't won yet, after all: the poll is open until August 24 and a lot can happen. But still: it's one thing to ask people to vote and an entirely other thing to push your 'hip' opinion on the public and tell the fans they're being silly. I happen to think this video is the best of all. So there.

Want to vote? Here are all the contestants!

I think the part that pissed me off the most was how they acted like Panic! at the Disco was irrelevant because the video was 'so old'. I know that the mainstream world of manufactured entertainment has no long term memory, but damn. It's no wonder the industry is collapsing, no one is taught to value it for more than a few moments before wandering off to find something else shiny. Ugh.

Yeah, that really didn't make any sense to me; what is the point of the polls for best vids of the 80s and 90s if they don't even acknowledge the favorites of the 2000s? Oh, how I miss the good old MTV that actually played music. That Panic video was one of the last I remember actually seeing on tv. I love that it's telling a story. The song still stands too. Well, for me anyway;)

I've been voting constantly as much as I was allowed to since the poll opened. I hope we win against all odds.

I'm going over to vote every time someone mentions the poll (and with a couple of fans on my twitter and tumblr that's quite a few times;) Looks like we are making a difference! Can't wait for it to be Wednesday though, it's almost too exciting:)

Hadn't read that, but that pisses me OFF. It's called '... of the DECADE', Mtv, not 'of the year'. You made a poll, now accept the results. Graaaah.

I just couldn't believe my ears, it is just so childish, especially coming from a thirty-something VJ. What the hey, Mtv? *goes over to vote a couple more times* (Hey, I can play that game, too;)

Just went to vote, and Panic! is at 48% of the votes! :-D
