A thousand pieces!

Sent in my second art submission for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang. \o/ I'm quite pleased with what I made even though I had to work on it last minute due to being busy all week and it was something different than I originally had in mind. I lost inspiration and time after being occupied with registering on professional websites and filling out my resumé all day. I still have no idea how long I'll still have my full job, but the bossman did announce he'd start the whole procedure with the unemployment agency again in the near future, so I need to be prepared for job-hunting.

I had wanted to design something based on a campy jigsaw puzzle I got for my birthday, featuring the painted over the top cover of a romance novel. That turned out to be too elaborate for my brain to handle at the moment. I did however sit down to actually start on the puzzle. Never done that before and it was as relaxing as I hoped it would be (once I realized it wasn't a race against the clock;)

See what I mean about the cover? How awesome would it be if I could paint J2 like that:)

This took me about 45 minutes. I kept getting distracted by the pretty colours of the pieces while looking for all the border pieces.

An hour and a half. Learning to focus on the pieces I need.

Two and a half hours; time flies when you're having fun!

At least I got the most important part:)

I plan to do a bit every night this week, to destress from work. So far I'm really enjoying it, even if it means I'm away from the internet *grins*.

ETA: Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] marciaelena for the virtual gift! I could definitely use a cuddle today, excellent timing:)

For the first time - ever - I did not delive the maximum pieces allowed. I had a prompt in my head that I really wanted to make art for - but I just did not find the way to express it in art (in a way that I would be happy about). So at the time for early bird - I had nothing to send in. And I was just as lost yesterday.

I however had one piece of art that I am very pleased with - that I originally made for the first cycle of spn_illuminated. But when I had made it, I realized I really wanted to write the story myself. However, even though I am afraid to "give it away" I have started to realize that I will never write that story.... so I ended up sending in that piece of art.
I am not sure how I feel about that. 0.o

Now I'll have to start finding a way to make art for that prompt that I wanted to send it but failed to do here - so that I can send it in for another cycle of spn_illuminated.

I had already sent in an early bird admission, but was seriously contemplating to not enter another piece; with my brain being occupied by real life stuff, I just didn't feel like it. I knew I'd feel slightly guilty if I didn't try though, so after chilling with my jigsaw puzzle, I decided to fiddle with the guys and Photoshop for a bit. As it turned out I managed to create something worthy just before midnight. Now I only hope the mods agree with me;)

Hadn't thought of spn_illuminated, thanks for the tip; I may still do something with that original idea I had!

I can't wait to see what you came up with:)
