While uploading the image of the box-cover I discovered my 2000 piece puzzle has a title, huh. Now if only I could understand what all the random items floating in the heads of the almost kissing couple represent. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? /o\
If you follow me on Twitter you already know I set up a special table for this new puzzle project. I'm trying to take pictures every night, but probably won't post any more progress shots until I'm done. Which will not be for a long time. 2000 pieces is a LOT, y'all )
When it's done the puzzle will be about 70 centimetres by 1 meter big! (38.125" x 27.25") You're more than welcome to come over and help out;)

Oh my goodness, I only just noticed the huge bird. O<>O This painting has ALL THE THINGS. \o/

Ack. I've not been feeling interesting enough to post adventures and thoughts lately. But since I had planned to keep track of my fanfic reading, and to not get too far behind, I'm sharing a list of stories I read in the past month. (Warning: it's a long one) The fact that I finished these means I liked them, so they're all recommended. I've added stars to the ones I absolutely loved, if you're looking for something to read right now, start with those;) Mind the warnings, though! My taste may not be yours after all;)

Some things old, some things new, some things borrowed, some things blue.... )
Speaking of that last challenge: for those of you who missed my post after I messed up the latest import to my Dreamwidth: I posted my first artwork of 2013! For [livejournal.com profile] callistosh65's lovely nonAU story about Jensen taking care of a sick Jared, I made a paper portrait, pancakes, and more!

My next challenge is [livejournal.com profile] spn_cinema: I chose Canadian film Les Amours Imaginaires to be inspired by: "The story of three close friends who are involved in a love-triangle." I will tell you more about that later :-p (If you can, watch it, the English title is 'Heartbeats' a rather inadequate translation, as it lacks the colourful feel of the original, but luckily that doesn't change the awesomeness of the film itself;)

In between rolling around in fandom, I've also finished some regular books, you can find that reading list here.

On Friday I started on a new jigsaw puzzle, this one is 2000 pieces, so that should keep me busy while my mind is swirling with ideas *g*

It's done!

1000 pieces! )
Tadaah! Started this on September 16 and tried to do a bit every night to destress from work (except for Tuesdaynights, because that's my TV night for The Great British Bake Off). This puzzle-project totally succeeded in getting me in the zone and forgetting about the job issues for a while:) Most photos were made at the end of each puzzle-session, the last three or four were taken in between the final stages, when I got very excited;)

I have another puzzle of 2000 pieces, but for the next few weeks I will be escaping from real life by fiddling with my artwork for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang and the [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas.

My heart! *clutches it* Such an excellent episode of The Great British Bake Off tonight. I held my breath through all the baking challenges, it was brilliant. They made spongecakes, (sticky toffee and other) English puddings and (sweet and savoury) strüdels. I just so love watching those bakers. What a great evening.

Exactly what I needed after reading a very depressing book today (Dutch translation of Bord de Mer - Véronique Olmi, about a woman with two young sons who is losing her grip on life). Found that book in mom's collection and from the inscription I see I gave it to her on her birthday in 2004. I feel a little guilty about that, because the story was so sad.

Am still working on that jigsaw puzzle. For two days in a row now when I got home, I went straight to the table to check on it and immediately discovered a fitting piece just lying around. \o/ This project is making me all giddy :-D

Sent in my second art submission for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang. \o/ I'm quite pleased with what I made even though I had to work on it last minute due to being busy all week and it was something different than I originally had in mind. I lost inspiration and time after being occupied with registering on professional websites and filling out my resumé all day. I still have no idea how long I'll still have my full job, but the bossman did announce he'd start the whole procedure with the unemployment agency again in the near future, so I need to be prepared for job-hunting.

I had wanted to design something based on a campy jigsaw puzzle I got for my birthday, featuring the painted over the top cover of a romance novel. That turned out to be too elaborate for my brain to handle at the moment. I did however sit down to actually start on the puzzle. Never done that before and it was as relaxing as I hoped it would be (once I realized it wasn't a race against the clock;)
Here's how far I got... )

I plan to do a bit every night this week, to destress from work. So far I'm really enjoying it, even if it means I'm away from the internet *grins*.

ETA: Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] marciaelena for the virtual gift! I could definitely use a cuddle today, excellent timing:)
