Pff, those were some worlwind weeks since my previous post. In between work being crazy busy (as usual;) I had a long weekend off for a theatre trip to London, including a night at the Leicester Square Theatre for Richard Herring's podcast; he interviewed Tim Key, who presented his book of poems, and Davina McCall, a hero of mine ever since her MTV days, she was so cool and gorgeous. I also met up with an international workfriend:) I shared a bunch of photos at my Instagram:
Part 1: Night Ferry / Breakfast / Undergrond / Rain / Black Friars Bridge / Exploring Bankside (Artsy:) / Shakespeare's Globe! | Part 2: More exploring Bankside (Winchester Palace / As You Like It at Shakespeare's Globe! / Golden Hind galleon) / King's Cross Hotel / IFO (rainbow swing) by IFO Jacques Rival. | Part 3: Saint Chad! (for the SPN RPF fangirls;) / King's Cross / British Library / Detail of St. Pancras railway sculpture frieze (The Meeting Place by Paul Day) / Skeleton at Liberty / Lunch at Mother Mash with G.

I received some great fandom news: after a process of over two (2!) years, the import of the Nick&Greg fic archive WMTDB is finally complete and the collection of over 2000 stories is now safely stored in our own collection at AO3!

I continued to play in Land of Art Phase 21: Challenge 10 was a Halloween/Autumn Edition Scavenger Hunt where we had to find specific images and create a whole bunch of spooky or autumny graphic designs. I dove into all sorts of monster and witches films and also rediscovered the Buffy and Angel fandom:-)
I managed to find all the required images/screenshots and below I'm sharing all the stuff I created; a mood theme, icons, sigtags, picspams, bookmarks, colorbars, headers, panoramas, posters, tumblr graphics and wallpapers!

ALL THE THINGS! )

MORE THINGS! )

With another businesstrip ahead of me, I may have to hand in some Golden Tickets for a few coming challenges to have enough time to do the ones I really want to do. Today I'm working on colouring pages, it's so relaxing getting out the pencils:-)

Another set of graphic designs for [livejournal.com profile] landofart that I worked on in between fandom challenges in the past month. Points for Phase 15 are still being tallied, so I don't know how my team Steampunk did yet. I'm also still waiting for the votes for the Halloween challenge, I will post the final two sets of Land of Art graphics as soon as those results are in. There was going to be a Christmas challenge, but that got cancelled, so I supposed I have no more excuses left to start getting my Xmas cards* ready!

Colourbars and Bookmarks )

I still have a few Sam & Dean cards left from last year, if you want one, let me know! This year's cards* will be non fandom;)

Since I'm spending a lot of time in old fandoms these days, I figured I would also treat [livejournal.com profile] felisblanco to some nostalgia on her birthday;)

Some additional good times with Angelus and Spike... )
Have a great day :-)

Wahey, brotherdearest called me at work yesterday-afternoon to tell me he wanted to come over for a surprise visit:) Had to improvise dinner, but that was mostly an excuse to buy an extravagant dessert *grins* (Chocolate Banoffee from Gü; "buttery biscuit base smothered in banana dulce de leche, mascarpone cheesecake and chocolate ganache")
After spending all evening talking about life and showing each other cool stuff online, as you do... (Like The orbits of the moons and planets form a 4-dimensional fractal helix in spacetime. but also Pottermore;) - I'm PhoenixNight 165 if you're looking for me)... he stayed for a sleep-over so we could continue our neverending Buffy/Angel rewatch/marathon this morning.
We only had time for two Angel episodes (S2Ep11 Redefinition and Ep12 Blood Money), but that was more than enough intense brooding and fighting to keep me going until our next get together:) (Have you SEEN Christian Kane with that awesome haircut and his fancy suit? Wriauw. Also: all the kick ass women! Julie Benz! Juliet Landau! Yes, Angel was pretty bad ass too;)

This was just the kind of real life hug I needed to get energized again. And the weekend has only just begun! *rolls up sleeves*

Sidenote: I remembered seeing Angel on JDM's curriculum and had to check: we still have a whole season to go before we get to his episode (S3ep12 Provider). Can't wait to see that, I honestly don't remember the part he played, I wonder if it's as huge as El Sid in Sliders;)

Brotherdearest came over yesterday and I made a cauliflower-ovendish, which was delicious (if I do say so myself;) We talked about life, computers and traveling. He's going on a trip to Bangkok/Singapore/Indonesia next week and we went through my old photo-albums to check for places he should try to visit. I haven't been to Bangkok, but I spent a couple of weeks in Indonesia with the other brother in 1996 and had a three day stopover in Singapore in 2000 on my way to Australia (jeebus, was it really that long ago?). It was fun until brotherdearest felt it was necessary to mention that he was now the same age as I was in those pictures. Haha, little brother, haha.

Anyway...;)

Of course we ended our evening up in the attic to continue our everlasting Buffy and Angel marathon. We saw Angel S2Ep5 Dear Boy, which was AWESOME (Darla! Sexdreams! Lindsey minus hand (gosh, Christian Kane was wicked in that) & Ep6 Guise Will Be Guise, which was awful (a comedy episode that fell flat on its face, literally. Okay, Angel pouting that he wasn't a eunuch was quite funny, but the rest was yawn worthy) and Buffy S5Ep6 Family, which was all about darling Tara. *happy sigh* That was mm-mm good. (ETA: Forgot to mention the added bonus: baby Amy Adams!)

This morning we had a luxury breakfast before brotherdearest went home again (to host a big party). It was great. Can't wait for him to come back in a month and share his travelstories:)

Tara: Your insect reflection represents your insignificance in terms of karmic cycle.
Anya: It's still not funny.

Yesterday brotherdearest came over to fix my upstair's computer and to continue our everlasting Buffy/Angel marathon. We watched the final episodes of Season 4 and 1 respectively. It was obvious we now reached the episodes that we only watched once (or maybe twice;) in the past; there were a lot of scenes we didn't remember, while before we would voice over a lot of dialogue. It was fun to feel suspense again.

I can't look at Christian Kane now without connecting him to J2 fanfiction. Especially when a screenshot of him reminded me of a gorgeous still of a certain Jensen Ackles in Supernatural.

I had to capture it: look how pretty! )

See what I mean? *sighs*
