Dare to be different and learn to be lonely

For my first spn_reversebang of 2022, I submitted my papercut puppetmaster artwork in the Either category, which means the author had the choice to either play in the SPN or the RPF corner. I had deliberately kept the facial features of my papercut art neutral, so the author could also pick the roles for the characters. I was thrilled the story ended up being a Supernatural AU, with the artwork turned into a more metaphorical puppetmaster. Go read the fic to find out who's pulling the strings...

For this year's first spn_reversebang I wanted to do less hands-on arts & crafts and I wanted to see if I could create a paperlook digitally. After claiming, my author came up with a wonderful concept for my torn-up Jeff photos and I ended up playing with real paper for the additional art. I still got my dose of digital fiddling though:)

Unfortunately due to RL circumstances, the author wasn't able to finish the fic, so I'm posting art only at this time.

Art title: I've reached out in the dark to touch things a thousand miles away

This is the description/prompt I added to the artwork: Jeff's face at different ages, torn apart, but forming a complete portrait. Jensen is looking at him. Is this a vision of the man (men?) of Jensen's dreams? Is this a sweet stalker fic? Or maybe a time travel experience? Go wild, go long or go short, as long as these two get together at least once (to snuggle or for sexy times...) I can live with a sad ending as well as a happily ever after;o)

The artwork I made based on the draft of the story is behind the cut, as well as a full Making Of for both the digital and the additional paper art:)

For this year's first spn_reversebang I played with a random sketch I made months ago of a young Sam... I added dragons *grins* When my author pictured the smaller dragon as Dean, I squeed with joy and I wanted him to feature in the storybanner:) The fic is not just a were-dragon AU, it offers an intriguing alternate timeline from the moment Supernatural canon started all these years ago; what if John had made different choices back then? Had a marvelous Sinterklaas with my family yesterday. I plan to do a picspam later, after I managed to catch up on comments and other fandom fun. (There are also some other things I'd like to post soonish;)

When I came up with this prompt for spn_reversebang, I intended to go for a new type of visual. Then I realized it once again just shows my favorite theme: Jeff with a extra limbs to snugglehug Jensen with. *grins* But I did try a new arts & crafts thing: I made a paper mosaic. That was a lot more complicated then I thought and took up a ridiculous amount of time. Oh well, my intention for this challenge is always to have fun fiddling creatively, so at least I succeeded in that, haha.

My original artprompt lured in an author I worked with before, on a fic that also involved Jensen/Jeff and a multitude of appendages, so I knew we had similar interests;) May I present the result of our collaboration for this year's SPN_ReverseBang:

For my Early_Bird submission to this year's spn_reversebang I decided to focus on someone else than the men in this glorious SPN/RPF fandom for a chance. I've always had a supersecret crush on Samantha Smith and I was inspired by a ninja-selfie she posted on her Instagram [x]. It put an idea in my head that I didn't think would work in RPF, so that's how I ended up with the team of Mary Winchester, Jody Mills and Donna Hanscum in the style of Charlie's Angels. (The original 70s tv-series version;)
Based on this prompt, my author wrote an origin story that starts in the Supernatural and Men of Letters universe we know and then takes a different turn! I proudly present:

Yay, today I'm having a pajamaday as a reward for finishing two challenges!
In October 2015(!) I started working on my spn_reversebang artwork, it was claimed for a collaboration in November and in the past three months I've created additional pieces and turned the original design into a storybanner. I'm happy to finally be allowed to present all my arsty fiddling and yesterday I unlocked my RB artpost:) I'd love for hear what you think of it: click the teaser to see how those paper tentacles turned out!

This week I'm taking a break from adding to my regular fitness plan, but I think I already know what to do for my next work-out challenge.

I also signed up for another fanart project: I'm doing a collaboration and a solo piece for spn_meanttobe. These are not due until May, so if anyone has any suggestions on what I could participate in until then? (Preferably one with a tighter schedule;)

Yay, I was claimed in the spn_reversebang and it happened a lot faster than I thought:) So many authors responded in the first few minutes that I hadn't even noticed, heehee. I think most of my friends' artworks were grabbed too, but there are still a couple of beauties left, so if you're an author looking for inspiration, check out these artprompts! (If you haven't signed up yet, you are still allowed to do that)

I'm not a fan of Facebook, but I couldn't stay away when I heard Jared was doing a livevideo. Poor guy's connection kept crashing, so he ended up with four short vids, but they are so sincere and cute and pretty, I recommend watching them if you need a bit of sunshine:)

So, now that I lured an author for my RB artwork (whose identity I will disclose as soon as the revealpost goes up;) I have a total of two (2!) projects to work on. A nice change from the frantic days of last winter. I've already mailed back and forth, which is always such a joy and with Jared being a sweetie and J2-Sunday in DenverCon coming up, I'm in love with fandom all over again.

Oh, the other project is a commission from the charity auction and per bidder tipsy_kitty's wishes it will be a surprise until it's done;)

Now I will snuggle on the couch to continue my reread of the Hungergames series. I'm organizing a moviemarathon of the first three films in my attic next weekend and I need to be prepared! (We'll all go see the final film in the cinema as soon as possible afterwards).

Originally this would be my final presentation for this edition of spn_reversebang, and then I could have stated how I saved the best for last. Not to dismiss my other artwork (or collaborators), but because this is my OTP and the main reason why I join this challenge*;) Due to a change in the schedule there will be another artpost the day after tomorrow. But I do hope y'all take time to appreciate this rare pair before attention is yet again drawn towards the fandomfavorites;)

In a Reverse Bang artists make fan-art which is posted anonymously for authors to choose as inspiration for fanfiction. *I admit my main goal for RBB-arting is to lure prompt a fellow JDM-loving fan into writing. There is only a relatively small group of people who understands the chemistry between these guys, so I was immensely pleased to yet again catch an awesome author who's on the same wavelength; ashtraythief wrote a fabulous story to go with this scene I imagined:
