Artwork for ReverseBang 2013 [The Second]
Feb. 10th, 2014 01:02 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Originally this would be my final presentation for this edition of
spn_reversebang, and then I could have stated how I saved the best for last. Not to dismiss my other artwork (or collaborators), but because this is my OTP and the main reason why I join this challenge*;) Due to a change in the schedule there will be another artpost the day after tomorrow. But I do hope y'all take time to appreciate this rare pair before attention is yet again drawn towards the fandomfavorites;)
In a Reverse Bang artists make fan-art which is posted anonymously for authors to choose as inspiration for fanfiction. *I admit my main goal for RBB-arting is tolure prompt a fellow JDM-loving fan into writing. There is only a relatively small group of people who understands the chemistry between these guys, so I was immensely pleased to yet again catch an awesome author who's on the same wavelength;
ashtraythief wrote a fabulous story to go with this scene I imagined:

Fic Title: Hungry
Author:
ashtraythief
Artist:
beelikej
Medium: Photoshop & Paper!
Fandom/Genre: Supernatural/RPS, AU, Romance, Erotica
Pairing(s): Jensen Ackles/Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Rating: NC17
Word Count: 19,300
Summary: Jeff has been away on a business trip for three months and Jensen has missed him. A lot. Too bad their reunion takes place at a family dinner, which means meddling family members and not enough privacy to deal with the important things.
It was such a joy to brainstorm with
ashtraythief about how we could get these guys all worked up *grins*. I was very pleased to find that our pervy minds went into the same direction and I was inspired to once again venture into sketching some naughty scenes. \o/ So while most of the artwork is G-rated I did make two paperscenes that can be categorized as R/NC17. I put them behind a spoiler-cut, so you can only see them if you click that. You can scroll down safely;)

Dividers
Original size is 500 pixels, resized for space (except the cake;) My prompt's title was the figuratively used 'hungry' for the state of mind of the guys. I was very pleased with
ashtraythief's idea of the family-dinner to keep the guys apart a little longer which build up their appetite even more (so much cockblocking, heehee!). To keep with the theme, all the dividers are related to food. I initially made many more, but these are the ones that were chosen:

Papercut pieces
After getting these guys naked for the 2013 BigBang, I had hoped to find another author who was willing to go there with me. I was thrilled when
ashtraythief not only loved the idea, but also incorporated a couple of my kinks to work with. See if you can figure them out :-p
I picked two scenes to illustrate, so these images are slightly spoilery if you haven't read the story yet. The first scene is R-rated, no nakedness, but a serious making out session with hands in pants and clear arousal...

Pencil sketch and first papercut. For the final version I cut separate bodies and Jeff's rings are on different fingers;)
After creating the papercuts, I made several photographs in different settings. For your enjoyment I also included a couple of pics from behind the scenes of the photoshoot;) Click on the images if you want to take a closer look!

Both shot in front of screen with projected background of bathroom. With no other lightsource this creates a silhouette (left).
Let me show you how that was done:

(No pictures of me lying down on the floor in impossible positions like a professional photographer, trying to capture the paperguys in the right dimensions;)

On top of a print of the bathroom-image (my favorite) and on a dark background with light from the side.
The second scene is NC17-rated, because the guys finally made it home \o/

A glimpse of the process: close up and a complete cut next to the first rough sketch;) Did anyone spot the extra hand on Jeff's shoulder in the right picture? (Before I sketch in pencil I make a very clunky manip in Photoshop to figure out the bodies. I had already made the first complete cut before I noticed I had given Jensen three arms, oops)
This pose was harder to photograph, because of the funky angle I cut them in. But I sure had some fun with them...

:-D

I really like the different shading that happened from playing with the light. (Click on image to zoom in!)

This 3D construction is my favorite shot of the tablescene.
As a final treat an icon for my author:

And this concludes the naked bit of this presentation. *curtsies*

Thank you!
Thank you,
ashtraythief for grabbing my prompt and for writing a supersexy and sweet story. (AND for letting me look over your shoulder while typing online, that was one of the coolest collaboration experiences ever!) Bless the new
spn_reversebang mods for making sure this challenge could continue.

Date: 2014-02-10 01:34 pm (UTC)JDM and Jensen are undressing!! I love the banner!! And how they arefacing each other!
And your papercuts are amazing!! ( ॣ•͈૦•͈ ॣ)꒳ᵒ꒳ᵎᵎᵎ how can you cut the detailed pieces so neatly!! Like Dean's hair in the first papercut. And the second papercut is hot!!! I love how you make Jensen significantly smaller than Jeff!
JDM/Jensen with age gap and size kink, bb thank you for the awesome prompt!! Gotta hurry to read the fic!!

Date: 2014-02-12 09:49 pm (UTC)In some angles Jensen looks extra small, but he is merely 24 in the fic and he was much frailer then;) So cool that you noticed!
The fic is magnificent.

Date: 2014-02-10 04:24 pm (UTC)I had given Jensen three arms, oops
Are you sure that was an ARM? >.<
So, erm . . . how long does it take you, from initial sketch to final cutout?
Re: Nobody does it better . . .
Date: 2014-02-12 10:18 pm (UTC)OY! (Oh no, you're giving me all sorts of ideas now. I think I already came up with a prompt for next time...)
Depending on the amount of spikes in their hair, cutting a body takes anywhere between an hour and a half and three hours. I think. I often lose track of time;) I do know that the preparations take longer, I'm sure you recognize some of these steps: deciding the right shape, finding a good reference, getting the bodies to look like THEM, sketching and resketching. Then remembering I have to make a mirror image if I want to cut them as I imagined them so the final step is tracing the original sketch for a decent cutting shape. After cutting the outline of the bodies, I also spend a lot of time figuring out which details to cut without losing any fatal parts; I almost cut off Jeff's butt! O_o

Date: 2014-02-10 04:29 pm (UTC)First off - I am impressed by your sketches! They are really good! Sketching anything is hard (for me) and sketching people in those kind of positions always come out weird if I do it :-)
I love the details in your papercuts! You have built up every figue so well!
And I love the play with light!
Also - putting the background image on the screen and then put the papercut in front of that and take a picture of that just gives such a depth to the pictures!
How did you end up doing paper-cut art? I have never really seen it before you started doing it. I have to try it - at least once! If not for a bigbang, then for something else. I love experimenting with new ways of making art!
*bravo*

Date: 2014-02-12 10:36 pm (UTC)Sketching is the most frustrating thing. I do make a manip in Photoshop first to get the position to my liking. Bodies are hard!
Playing with the light is my reward for the time I spent sitting still and having to focus on not fucking up the cutting;)
I'm so happy the screen image works as a background, I was very excited to try that and admittedly quite pleased with myself when I came up with that. I always try to come up with ways to work with what I got around the house.
That's also how I started the paper-cut art (with Jeff and the cupcakes;) I had grown a little bored with doing yet another digital design and was inspired Gishwesh to do some hands-on creating with materials I had collected in my arts & crafts closet (I told you before that I was a horder of random materials for our Sinterklaas surprises) I found a lot of coloured paper and I just wanted to DO something with that.
The fun thing is, once you start to focus on a technique you suddenly see a lot of examples around you. I follow a couple of art-tumblrs that had some amazing paper-craft. And when I was in Australia, I saw a wonderful paper window display. I took photos of it, I'll send you some and will see if I can locate some links. There are so many options to explore!

Date: 2014-02-12 11:22 pm (UTC)I am doing some hamas bead pictures with Amaya these days... and I have this urge to make some J2, Jensen or Jared art from that! :-) Gishwhes does that to us!

I hope to read the story this weekend, but I couldn't wait to comment on your awesomely wonderful work! Great job, bb!

Date: 2014-02-21 08:52 pm (UTC)The colours came from the still of Jeff that inspired the whole prompt; The Losers has a pretty cool set design:)
Papercutting can be rather scary, but it definitely is rewarding, working with these guys.
Thanks for peeking before reading, hope I didn't spoil the NC17 bits :-p
