Found this in an old jewelry box this weekend: it's the ring I got for my eighteenth birthday, which is almost 24 years ago. Can you believe it: in six weeks I will be 42!

You may already know I don't usually do parties or get-togethers, with the exception of the Harry Potter Marathons;) But to celebrate this special occasion, I'm inviting you to come over! (No matter where you live, how long you've been on my flist, how often we communicate: if you're reading this, you're invited:)

My birthday is on Monday, December 26.
I know that date is probably reserved for family-related obligations (story of my life;) therefore I'm extending the invitation until New Year's Eve. (I'm free all week. Sleepovers are encouraged!)

There are no specific plans yet, but I'll most likely will take you up to my attic - honestly not as ominous as it sounds - to talk, hang, watch films, etc.* I also will provide food and drinks (non alcoholic;)

Give me your address and I'll give you mine. I'm also making this the yearly holiday-cards notice, so even if you're not coming over, leave me your contact-information so I can put you on my paper-mailinglist!
For that reason comments are screened. Or if you prefer, you can mail me: beelikej@gmail.com

I love to hear from you:)

*Don't worry about the etcetera part. Don't be shy, I'm really talking to you. Come over, it'll be FANtastic (*nudges* Get it?;)

Had an awesome marathonweekend with [livejournal.com profile] tanisafan, here's a summary of squee:)
Face it. You're a neo maxi zoom dweebie, what would you be doing if you weren't out making yourself a better citizen? )
It was once again a pleasure to have T. around: it was a marvelous weekend\o/

Now all the builders in and around the apartment are finally done, it was time to get the attic back to normal. So I spent my night upstairs putting the big screen back up, removing all the plastic covers off the furniture, rearranging my posters and measuring the new window for the black-out curtain. Since it's dark early these days I don't need to wait until I make that cover to have another marathon session. (Are you ready, [livejournal.com profile] artistic_sillie? I'm collecting new CSI's like a good fangirl;)

Nothing like rolling up your sleeves and doing some good ol' manual labour to forget about the woe for a while. Yesterday I took my mind off 'stuff' by creating a gallery of all my brand-spanking new userpics (the name is the aim;)

And while I'm thinking about a new LJ-design I'm fiddling with lay-outs. I really love the purple bats.

The woe is lurking in the background and tomorrow is gonna be a rough day at work; after the 'normal' workday I have to socialize until 10 pm for some 'festive' event. I plan to survive one breath at the time... Breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out.

The work was supposed to be done in a week: the window in the attic was going to be replaced and asbestos would be removed. Since I didn't find my key in the mailbox as promised, I decided to take a look upstairs. It seems they removed part of the window frame and stuffed it with a bit of crumbled up paper. Which of course isn't waterproof, so there was water dripping on my carpet. Good job, guys. They also apparently used my attic as storage space. I hope to talk to the contractor on Monday. It's a good thing I emptied out the area and covered all my precious equipment...

On a happier note: only two more weeks until Sinterklaas-festivities! This morning the neighbourhood version of our St. Nick did his rounds together with his musical Petes:)

More good stuff: I already got a birthdaypresent! To comfort me after reading Thursday's sick and tired post [livejournal.com profile] rispacooper surprised me with Nick/Greg fic! It made me feel so much better and you should all go and read it and tell her how awesome she is: Truth And Dare

My throat still hurts and I have a serious case of the sniffles, which looks like it will grow into the barking cough over the next few days. But this afternoon I will let myself be pampered by Mom: I'm going over to her for dinner and tonight we are going to the Art house for 'Amazing Grace' with Ioan Gruffud. Mmmm.
