Dare to be different and learn to be lonely

Today was a good day. I originally wrote a whole post of woe is me, but I discarded that because I'm gonna focus on things I got done in the past few days, HA! One of the items on my to-do list was to paint my favorite shoes. Of course I made photos of the process. I'm so pleased with the result. This pair was really not suitable to wear in public anymore and now they look pretty funky again.

Also: I had such a ball with #NJCon already; a lot of LJ-friends are actually at the Supernatural convention in New Jersey and I'm keeping an eye on a bunch of them through Twitter. One awesome fangirl periscoped the whole Gold Panel this morning, so I was able to watch Jensen and Jared live on stage, how cool is THAT? I love the internet, but most of all I love that my friends are having such a great time. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Yesterday I read a wonderful fanfic, adored cool fan-art and I dyed my grey shoes green. I also folded up laundry, brought my empty glass jars and bottles to the recycle bin, got groceries at the bio-supermarket, bought film-tickets for Wednesday (so I'll have time to eat a mom's beforehand) and looked for inspiration for my current art-challenge. A very satisfying day.

BEELIKEJ: Heehee, this is so funny and cool! I love Jensen's big eyes and freckles, Jared's hair and sixpack, both their fantastic bodies and oh, the ears! My favorite is the one where Jensen is frantically wagging his tail. Wonderful idea and excellent execution, the drawings really pop in those photo backgrounds. New sandals - and painted toenails!

Despite still being busy with BigBang (my first artwork will be posted on Monday July 19!) I'm already preparing for travel this summer:)
I will be in London in the first week of August for theatre-visites and shoe-shopping in Camden, if you want to meet up, let me know!

I also hope to go see Tim Minchin in London on December 14, providing there will still be tickets available by the time I'm finished with BigBang and have time to make arrangements (final artwork will be posted on Monday July 26) - does anyone want to join me then?

In my neverending effort to keep my closets tidy, this week I made an inventory of my shoes.
Over the years it's become quite an eclectic collection, but all pairs have one thing in common: they are timeless. Well, that's what I'm telling myself, since I've been wearing some of these since the mid-eighties *grins*. What can I say? I never throw stuff out and with loads of pairs I can wear different shoes every day, so they go a long way:)
