Today was a good day. I originally wrote a whole post of woe is me, but I discarded that because I'm gonna focus on things I got done in the past few days, HA! One of the items on my to-do list was to paint my favorite shoes. Of course I made photos of the process. I'm so pleased with the result. This pair was really not suitable to wear in public anymore and now they look pretty funky again.
I also cleared out my colourful collection of matches, but more about that after the shoes:)

I had already fiddled with one shoe before I grabbed my camera: can you spot the difference?

Here's how I did it: I first covered the damaged parts with blue leatherpaint, then rubbed that in and wiped off the excess with a tissue before painting the same parts green.

Then I'd dab them with colourless shoe shine before adding finishing touches with black shoe shine: tadaah!

This is my collection of matchboxes, all with differently coloured matches. After keeping them on display in all my kitchens for years, the boxes are rather greasy (ehw) so I've decided they are part 1 of project Clean Out The Kitchen and I'm throwing them out. I'm saving the matches though. (I'm so bad at throwing things out and they are so pretty, shut up)
Also: I had such a ball with #NJCon already; a lot of LJ-friends are actually at the Supernatural convention in New Jersey and I'm keeping an eye on a bunch of them through Twitter. One awesome fangirl periscoped the whole Gold Panel this morning, so I was able to watch Jensen and Jared live on stage, how cool is THAT? I love the internet, but most of all I love that my friends are having such a great time. Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
