It's Friday-evening, which means it's weekend, woohoo!
That's it, that's my good thing for today. :-p

So no list of three at the moment, but I do have something uplifting to share. I'm not sure if it's a worldwide custom to put up a sign in the yard when a baby is born, but that's what people do here. Sometimes they add a fake stork and other decorations, but the main feature will be a big sign with the baby's name painted on it. On my way home my bus drives through a couple of small towns and one of the houses we pass by has the whole shebang in the front-garden, including a name that makes me smirk every time I see it. I tried to take a picture today, but unfortunately the busdriver didn't believe in the speedlimit and raced by, despite the seven speedbumps on that particular road, dumbass. So you will just have to believe me on my word when I tell you what is on the sign in huge dripping pink letters:
It rhymes with 'what the hell'... )

I've decided to not participate in Gishwhes II, despite Misha's many mails filled with adorkable pleas. I had a blast last year, but this time I'm simply not feeling sociable enough to go play with others. Thanks to real life sucking my spirit I also lack energy and time for a five day scavenge hunt. Fortunately for me Gishwhes already served its purpose* as it inspired me to be more creative with hands on art, to try new techniques and to challenge myself. I don't only mean relating to fandom, because I also blame Misha & Co for my new jigsawpuzzle-addiction;) I know some of my friends are joining for the first time this year and I do wish them as much fun as I had! Go crazy!

*(I know that's not its official purpose, and my initial goal when I signed up last year was to meet new people, but as it turned out my favorite items to collect were the ones where I could contribute to the team by playing on my own. It confirmed that I'm a true hermit. ~grins~)

The past few evenings I've finally been catching up on Pottermore and started going through Book 2. I must admit I skipped the potion in chapter 11, because it takes an hour to brew and I couldn't stay up until after midnight to finish. I will go back on Saturday or Sunday so I can try it in the daytime. Although I haven't even managed to make a practise potion before, so I fear it will still take me hours to get it right. But then I will be up to date and ready to wait until they actually open The Chamber of Secrets. If you want to friend me there: my name is PhoenixNight165 and I'm in Hufflepuff. \o/

In case you were wondering: yes, I'm an adult. :-p

No new artrecs yet, because I lack time this weekend, thanks to another family get-together tomorrow. Today was filled with chores, but I could treat myself in between with picking up a parcel with my December Diamonds order from the City Lights Christmas Store in San Diego. What I got are officially Xmas-tree ornaments, but I'm gonna happily put these on display all year round. Because it's always appropriate to have a sparkly merman decorating your house, am I right?

Look how pretty he is! )
*chinhands*

Just so you know: I have managed to keep up to date with all the artwork in the SPN_J2 BigBang and will share my favorites next week. I'm also reading a story every day, so there may be some ficrecs as well:)

Oh, remember that objection I wrote to the unemployment agency where my boss had applied for a license to cut my job in half? They sent me their decision yesterday. Rather unexpectedly they denied the application, because he failed to provide proof against the issues I raised in my arguments, which means he is not allowed to fire me! There is no option for appeal.
I have no idea what's gonna happen now, will hopefully find out on Monday. For now I'm going to enjoy my weekend with the knowledge that my arguments were heard and validated. That is a good feeling:)

Oh internet, you're so funny. The Supernatural/J2 fancorner on Tumblr is getting all weak in the knees about a long and lovely interview with Jensen & Jared. Obviously I had to read it and it is indeed pretty awesome. But a couple of answers looked familiar to me and seeing as nobody seemed to know whether the interview was real or where it came from, I did some googling... To my surprise I ended up at [livejournal.com profile] sillie82's LJ! Turns out (a part of) this interview is from the article in Dutch magazine Star that she and I translated back in 2009! Heh. I completely forgot we did that. Strangely enough the interview is edited* and gained some extra text since then; Jensen & Jared now mention being at each other's weddings (which were in 2010), so those answers were either fabricated or added from another source more recently. It would be nice if someone could verify where those additions came from. Until otherwise proven I prefer to believe it's ALL real :-p

The whole interview in English with links to the original (scanned) article in Dutch

*For instance: in the Dutch article Jared cried because of a book he was reading, according to this version he cried over Toy Story 3. And the lightning round questions were originally published in a mini-bio instead of interview form. There's more (like the grocery comments), but I have been stalling doing my BigBang homework all day, so I'm stepping away from the internet now. (I'll probably be back to check and compare more thouroughly later, because I'm utterly fascinated by this)

Sleeeeeepy

Uch; fell asleep on the couch and woke up feeling even more blah.

Treated myself with some online shopping and ordered Kings & Queens honeyshowergel (possibly the last two bottles in the UK!). Mmmmmm.

Ooooh; a day after I mailed them about deleting one of the photos in my Icelandalbum, Photobucket apologized and put the picture of the statue back up! I then asked TPTB why it had been taken down (because I wondered if it had to have been actively reported) and amazingly got a reply within two minutes. They said: "Accounts are reviewed randomly. So most likely the moderator didn't zoom in enough on the image and assumed they were naked.".

Aha. Hey, can I have that job? I would totally zoom in and be really thorough in my random investigations. Just saying;)

I was updating my readinglist with links to my travelpost, when I found out that Photobucket removed a photo out of my Iceland collection because it 'violated terms of use'!
Behind the cut the evil picture of a statue of two men wrestling... or something. I'm sure it's innocent fun. They're not even naked. )

I wish Photobucket would notify me and tell me why. Do you think I should try and ask?
I couldn't find any more information about the statue, so I don't know if I'm violating image rights or something. I fear the image itself is the reason it was banned, but don't TPTB request an active flagging of the picture? Who would do that? Don't tell me one of you was offended?

So much for going to bed early. *sighs*
