So on Friday my UTI was officially confirmed by the testresults from my GP and it was indeed a very serious one. I got a new type of medicine (because the previous pills had made me rather nauseated) and to my surprise it was only one sachet of powder (3 g fosfomycine) to be taken with a glass of water before bedtime. I don't know if it was the cure that caused it, but I woke up every two hours because I needed to pee, so I wasn't really rested in the morning, pffff.
Over the weekend I did start to feel better, except up until Monday I did still have a throbbing pain in my kidney area which concerned me. (I never had that with previous UTIs). I talked to the docter's assistent yesterday, she told me not to worry yet and to bring in another urine sample on Tuesday (today) to see if the cure had done its job.
Because I want to be absolutely painfree before going back to the office (and I could use some rest;) I stayed home today as well, even though I had to get up early to cycle to the GP. The quick test they did today didn't give certainty, so they're doing another bacterial culture test overnight and I can call about that tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed. My back was fine today, so I am mostly confident that the result will be positive.
I spent my time at home well: after napping on the couch I sorted all kinds of papers that had accumulated on my diningtable (and chairs). Then I cleaned up my arts&crafts corner, so I'm ready for a new fandomproject. I will pick another MatchMakerQuicky tonight!
I made two massage appointments, for February and March, looking forward to that.
I am also thinking about maybe a quick weekend trip to London before Brexit takes effect, but I haven't decided on a date yet.
With my newly cleaned backroom I feel like I'm getting things under control again. That's a good feeling:) I'm also pleased with how I'm slowly building up my online presence again, it's been fun getting back in touch with people.
I'm starting a new Darebee Challenge tonight, not a work-out, but something much, much harder: the Get to Bed on Time Challenge. My aim is to be in bed by 23:30 with a hard deadline of midnight. (Yes, for me that would be on time;). Let's see how that goes for the next 30 days!
