beelikej: (CinemaChallenge)
So my old webspace storage is locking down and I'm hunting down old images all over my blogs and journals to relink them. Came across a fun DIY post from the 2014 Cinema Challenge, where I made worksheets for paperpuppets of Jared, Jensen and Jeff. With loads of people sitting at home for a while, I figured I'd share them again, for everyone looking for a bit of fandom fun:)

4335 Complete Paperset TT
On the top Team Texas, who I take on an adventure in the original artpost.
On the bottom the J3 puppets:) You can download pdf-worksheets from my GoogleDrive:
Paperpuppet Jensen | Paperpuppet Jared | Paperpuppet Jeff

As mentioned on the worksheet, you'll need:
- scissors and an exacto knife;
- brass fasteners (8 per puppet);
- string: 2 short pieces (about 10 cm each) and a long piece for pulling;
- a (calender) hanger (stickertype)

Print the worksheets on thick paper (I used 375 grams Granite white) - or glue your print on a bit of cardboard.
Size=A4 (21x29,7cm) - Finished puppetsizes: Jensen=38cm; Jared=40cm. For the record: Jeff=39cm;).

I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home as everyone in my country is ordered to self isolate. While having to keep in touch with co-workers and especially the new group that I'm training, I'm doing more socializing digitally than I'm used to doing in person at the office, pfff. But I'm glad I'm busy and now that I've settled into the routine a bit, I hope to have enough energy left to catch up with some picspams of my travels. (I haven't forgotten that I never finished the Japan series, but first I'll share a bit of my recent trip to London:)

Be safe, everyone.

DIY project!
Twice a year I move the vertical blinds on my balcony door from the front to the back room because I switch it up with a cover on the door that keeps out the draft in winter in the front and blocks the sun in summer in the back. Last winter one of the stems that holds the louver (vertical slat) broke off in the frontroom, so when I wanted to move the blinds back for summer, I had to repair it before I could hang them back up. Here is a photoblog of how I did this. I feel very accomplished:)

Looking for work-out buddies
After a break to focus on starting a diet, next week I will start another Darebee work-out program for May. From the last times I know it really helps if I do this with others, so I'm looking for buddies who are willing to join in and keep track of each other. Low pressure, no shame if you skip a day, it will just be a way of cheering each other on and checking in each day, either here on DW, LJ or on Twitter or through PMs.
I will be doing the Epic Five, a five minute (5 minutes!) daily work-out with general fitness exercises. It's suitable for beginners (level 3 out of 5, with options to make it easier or more challenging if you want)
Darebee has loads of 30 day programs and challenges to choose from if you prefer to do something else (from drinking water every day to ninja work-outs:).
Who wants to join in?

Speaking of joining in: I'm trying not to worry about the lack of artists in this round of the [livejournal.com profile] quicky_bang, but if anyone could point me in the direction of where the SPN artists are hiding these days, that would be awesome. (Or poke one to check out this list of available fics? Thanks!)

DIY day #2

After yesterday's preparations today I got to finish the rest of my DIY projects for this vacation.

Ever since I replaced the huge marble windowsill with a smaller plain white one I've been meaning to fix the uncovered window frame. (I had to get rid of the marble to give the radiator underneath a chance of heating the livingroom properly). A former resident had made a hole in it to fit the original marble, I filled this up with liquid wood and then painted the whole frame. Here are pictures before, during and after my DIY-efforts: DIY job #2: The Windowsill

The grout between the tiles on my kitchen-wall looked dodgy. I thought whitening them was all I had to do, but as it turns out that was a lot more work than expected. Following instructions on the tube with the whitening-solution, I scrubbed the wall first and I found the grout rather damaged underneath the old layer of paint. So I had to fill the gaps before I could paint them. I als noticed the pipes of the boiler could use a lick of paint. Besides cleaning, sanding and painting I had to do a lot of waiting in between. But I think the result is worth it: DIY job #3: The tiles in the kitchen

And just in case you missed it: DIY job #1: The Bookcase

With all those chores done I now have time to get ready for my trip to London \o/

Had a lot of DIY on my chores list for this vacation. Managed to get started on all the painting and repairwork this morning. While paint and wall fillers are drying for me to continue tomorrow, I can already show you the one job I did get done today: straightening my bookcase. It was leaning like the Tower Of Pisa, after I put wheels underneath it. I thought I would occasionally want to move it around while redecorating. WRONG! As it turns out I like it against the wall, so I decided it was time to do what Ikea had told me to do in the first place and attach it to the wall for extra support. Click to see before and after pictures!

Oh and happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] rabidfan. I get so confused about the days/dates when I'm not working; hope you have/had a glorious day!
