DIY day # 1

Had a lot of DIY on my chores list for this vacation. Managed to get started on all the painting and repairwork this morning. While paint and wall fillers are drying for me to continue tomorrow, I can already show you the one job I did get done today: straightening my bookcase. It was leaning like the Tower Of Pisa, after I put wheels underneath it. I thought I would occasionally want to move it around while redecorating. WRONG! As it turns out I like it against the wall, so I decided it was time to do what Ikea had told me to do in the first place and attach it to the wall for extra support. Thanks. My day has been good. I'm waiting for Peter to call...he has an hour window tonight...that will pretty much make my day perfect!

Thanks for the advice on the bookcase! I had to look up the word 'shim' *g* - but that was what I had thought about too; I'm just not sure how to do that yet. I'll check if I have some spare wood lying around to create some sort of support.
