Feelings all over the place
While I'm waiting for perfect light to take photos of my artsy creations for the Reverse Bang, I figured I might as well write my last post of the year. I know there are still a couple of weeks to go in 2013, but I will be spending those away from home and the internet (which for me is the same thing, really;).
I have already sort of been preparing for this by slowly disengaging myself from several social networks; I haven't been as actively involved in my fandoms and commenting in general. Real life has taken up a lot of my time these past few weeks. That also includes fiddling with paper and crayons for three stories inspired by my Reverse Bang prompts, so not all is bad;)
Work has been odder than ever; due to downsizing, the topfloor of the building I've worked in for over ten years is going to be changed into an apartment for the bossman's family. When I return from my trip I will no longer have my own office there, but will work on the groundfloor at a big table I'll be sharing with three co-workers. I still can't wrap my head around that; this past week I've been emptying out my desk and room of all personal decorations.
At home I've been packing clothes for traveling and all in all it's a really weird end of year.
Some highlights. I fondly remember the mouse adventure of 2013 and the wonderful trip to London earlier this summer and of course making new friends and having a great time reading and arting in fandom. Yet with all the work and body issues this has not been one of the best years. BUT! I'm looking forward to ending it with exciting travels and finally meeting up with one of my oldest LiveJournal friends in Perth, no less, so ha! Take that, year! :-p
No traditional New Year's Eve at mom's house this time; I plan to be watching the fireworks in Sydney with my mom by my side (Djeebs, I'm getting all teary eyed just typing this.)
Will tell you all about my adventures when I get back: look forward to be picspammed into oblivion. For now I'll leave you with a photo of my new shoes (NEW SHOES! That's been a while;) and then I'm off to finish as much of my artwork as possible before I take off for real later this week.
Had contemplated bringing my black army boots, but since I'm not going to do hardcore exploring, I wanted lighter shoes to walk around in and was very pleased to find this funky pair;)
