Back to work - the haha edition

It was a very exciting Monday: when I checked my mail upon arrival at work around 9 am, the program didn't respond. After a little investigating it turned out my automatic response mail had been on a loop ever since I started my vacation 2 weeks ago! An 'unable to deliver' mail had been sent around again and again and all the regular mail had gotten stuck in between.
I was able to reach the inbox through an online server and started deleting these messages. Around 1 pm Outlook started downloading mail on my computer again; it had 30,944 messages waiting in line... *gulp*



I quickly turned off Outlook to continue deleting through the online server.


As you can see the loop sent out more than a message per minute and had been doing that since July 22...

At first I could delete them by the 100, after a while I was able to expand that to 500 messages, but it still took ages. Of course I had to be sure to check for important mail in between. Fortunately the more mail I deleted the faster the process seemed to go. (small comfort;)

I finished deleting the massive amount of messages a little after 3 pm. I had just enough time to deal with the few actual mails before I went home around 5 pm.

This week business hours are reduced to 'mornings only', due to many clients still being away on vacation. If this mail mayhem hadn't happened I could have gone home at noon. *pouts*

I'm already done with this week, hrmpf. I had planned a lot of online time tonight, but I'll get back to y'all tomorrow, okay?

Aww, bb, that's NO way to come back from vacation! But . . . at least it's over now?

Today there was still one lonely undeliverable message lurking, but I think I got it mostly under control;)

Yikes! I would've freaked out. At least you were able to handle the problem - it is fixed now, right? - even though it took a huge amount of your day.

It was my bossman that did the freaking out *grins* I'm pretty sure I got it under control, although there was a lonesome undelivered mail popping up twice this morning, I think that little loop has run its course now too. Pfew.

Today was indeed better (yesterday was hard to beat;)

I was so glad I thought of screencaps, because I wouldn't have believed that massive amount of mails myself even after witnessing them coming in!

It's hard to imagine anything can top Monday. We'll see;)
