CSI+Vampires+SPN+Torchwood = heavenly marathon-weekend!
Sadly, the THIRD semi-annual CSI-MARATHON has come to an end. But it was finger-licking gooooood. Together with
artistic_sillie I spent the last three days in the attic, watching the big screen. Not only did we watch CSI Season 7 up until last week's episode, we also had time for mini-marathons of SuperNatural and Torchwood. Bliss. *sigh of satisfaction*.
I picked Sillie up at the station on Saturdaymoring, after my visit to the optician, who couldn't find anything wrong with my eyes. So the dizzy-spells are still not explained, but seeing as I've been practically dizzy-free for the past week, after taking two and a half day off of work and sleeping a lot, I kind of have an idea what might be the cause. Next doctor's visit is this Friday...
The Marathon-Weekend
After Sillie and I had caught up on all the latest fandom-gossip (...) we had a long lunch (with more talking in between the eating ;o) and at about 3 pm we went upstairs. Besides a short break for diner (and some potty-breaks) we stayed up there watching CSI Season 7 until 3 am: 14 episodes in a row! We only skipped Sweet Jane, since we both had seen that on tv recently. Sillie had seen Redrum last week, but we agreed that one needed to be rewatched. Unfortunately the reversed forensics still didn't make any sense. Oh well. We were more than happy to ignore that and enjoy "The Wink":
If I remember correctly we went to sleep after Law Of Gravity. We continued the marathon after brunch on Sundaymorning. We were very happy about Greg getting prettier every episode and the return of Nick's hair (hello!). We also couldn't avoid staring at the Master of Button Down Shirts; we appreciate Warrick's efforts in distracting us with some man-cleavage very much, but what the hell is going on with his hair? Dreads dude, go back to the funky dreads. Thank you.
Of course the cases were interesting as well, but I mostly remember Nick'svery tight well filled up perfect pair of censored jeans. Guh.
I loved both LabRats and Happy Ending, but I can't remember specifics because of fangirling about the clothes and hair. I guess I have to rewatch them to be prepared for the coming episodes. Bummer.
After the CSI-marathon Sillie and I watched 'The Forsaken' (aka Desert Vampires) Thanks to the luring of some fanfic by
carolinecrane I had put this on our program... Caroline had warned me it was a really bad movie, but I choose to ignore her advise. I am not sorry about that, because now I am able to read the slashy fanfiction, which will surely make up for the lousiness of the film;)
We still hadn't had enough of the big screen: after diner we continued with two Torchwood-episodes. We were both virgins to this series and I was hooked right away, but I believe Sillie wasn't won over... yet. As a reward for her indulging me, we watched a couple of SuperNatural episodes next;) Until a little after midnight, when I really needed my sleep (I'm old yo)
Monday (an extra long weekend, because of Queensday, thank you mam!)
As a result of going to bed relatively early, we got up early as well. We finished the minimarathon of SuperNatural with the final episodes of Season 1 and the first of Season 2. I enjoyed watching SPN, but I'm not overwhelmed with emotions about it. Sorry Sillie. But I love you lots for watching two more Torchwoods with me, even though all the kissing made you giggle;) I have to agree with you that it is a bit much. But I did fall in love with Captain Jack and his crew anyway:) Who can resist a series where the subtext is text? I can't;) Even though Captain Jack's effort to do Mouth to Mouth was more like sloppy snogging than proper CPR. But, hey: it worked, didn't it? :-p
This afternoon Sillie went back home and now I'm left to deal with my new Torchwood addiction all by myself...

And heh, during that CPR scene, I was going 'Harkness, resusscitation does not include tongue and neck stroking!'. But oh well, no complaints here.
Glad you guys had fun (although I'm avoiding the CSI spoily until I watch 7.21 ;)) indulging in fandom. It is a good thing, this thing called slashy shows. *nods happily*
