This weekend's obsessions: fanfiction, artwork and underwear
I had planned to do a lot of useful things today, but then
sneaky_sena 'someone' on my flist posted about a fic, I had to click... and spent the next two hours reading all 32 chapters of what turned out to still be a WIP. Luckily the author seems to be updating regularly:) So good, people, I recommend you get sucked into this verse as well: J2, PG13 (I know!) and sweet enough to get this cynic to tear up: The Quiet Verse by
not_refined. AU. 16 year old Jared is an amateur pianist who unexpectedly begins to regain his confidence from his teacher’s cousin.
Before I got sucked into the fanfic I managed to do laundry and finish the book I've been struggling with in the past week Meneer Visser's Hellevaart (Mr. Visser's perdition, 1936) by S. Vestdijk. I was going to write a review, but I need some time to recover first.
Other things I managed to get done, despite losing time:I covered up the equipment in the attic; the scaffolding is already up and builders will start work on the roof next week I parked some PatD-artwork in my not-very-aptly-named iconcorner I posted pics of my old and new underwear in my picture corner
I didn't enter this week's challenge on
tw_hush, but for those of you who are curious, here are some icons I made earlier:

And a bonus one:

ETA: I kicked George Eads out of my living room. There are only so many crappy interviews I can handle. So you're straight, I get it. But do you have to keep emphasizing how that makes you a 'real man'? I'm very dissapointed, George. (The latest cringeworthy quote comes from this article that was posted by
artistic_sillie. It's in Dutch, but if you want a full translation, just ask)

I told you I love the PatD artwork, yes? And ohhh, I especially like the Tosh icon that looks a little like a puzzle piece, it reminds me a little of those movie posters you had in the 1960s, for Hitchcock movies etc!
And hmpf. He's laying it on so thick, I can't even be bothered to care anymore. He's pretty much everything that annoys me about the Texan stereotype, and I hate stereotyping people. Grr.

You did and thank you:)
Like I said to Silvia; what the fuck is he trying to prove? Also: I fear for Nick. If George is working this hard to sell the straight-image, I wonder what TPTB are planning.

(*Meaning, I finished it and will delve into the Quiet Verse shortly!)
Hmm, unless TPTB are actually making Nick gay and George feels like he needs to prove that IT'S JUST A PART HE'S PLAYING, NO REALLY. Which doesn't make me like him any more, but would maybe ensure that I give CSI another go? Really, there's not much that can save it at this point. Besides more Greg.

(Can't wait to hear how you feel about baby!J2, that one made me choke up)
Oooh, I like the way you think, because my brain went into the opposite direction; I can't even imagine TPTB being innovative. I will stick by CSI until the end (especially since S8 turned out to be not bad at all when I rewatched it marathonstyle with Sillie), but will definitely bitch (and probably cry) when there is going to be more soap-opera drama to distract from the
subtextcasefiles. I second the vote for more Greg.
