Shoot the moon!
If you follow me on Twitter you already know that I was sick the last couple of days. What seemed to be a simple sore throat and cold turned into a very snotty and feverish sinusitus. Being at home gave me a lot of time to worry about (lack of) comments on my most recent artwork and all in all I was pretty miserable. I tried to turn that frustration into inspiration with my previous post and today I'm posting happy photos to celebrate that I'm feeling better AND to remind myself there's lots of other good stuff in my life.
First off these awesome photos of VegasCon I came across on Tumblr:
Jared, hula hoop dork vs. Jensen, hula hoop god

See, I did pay attention to J2. But -just like Jensen- I was mostly mesmerized by this guy:

Not fandom, but also fun: mom had given me a fancy dinner out for my birthday and last week we finally managed to go out. We went to restaurant "Kletsen & Proeven", which means 'Chat & Taste', as they offer a special sample-menu where you can try all their dishes in one go. Here's what we had:

On our way to the restaurant we passed that glass statue of Michael and with no bicycletaxis surrounding it this time, I had to take photos from all angles. (To compensate for the lack of view on the citywalk with
sillie82 on March 3)
My moms ordered the starter-taster (I sneakily ate of her plate;) - mustardsoup, salad with serranoham and melon, salmon tartar, mushrooms fried in beerbatter

I chose the meat platter for my main course (beef, pork, chicken and spare-ribs), my mom had the taster platter (salmonfilet, meatstew, steak); we shared everything, including that big paperbag with fries:)
We both had our own dessert dish - fresh fruit, including passionfruit with goldberry, sorbet, chocolatecake, creme brullee, whipcream and chocolate)
Everything was delicious \o/
More family fun
A week ago I already linked to the photos I made myself when my nephew took me to the Dinosaur exhibit, but his mom posted two really cute ones on Facebook that I'm sharing here:

Last but not least: check out the awesome story I got as a gift for springfling:

I've been in and out of fandom and reading and appreciating art because of evil reallife, but today is a day of catching up. I think I went throgh three of my favorite writer's journals and just read all the older stuff I missed, and I'm not even close to done! I might have missed your artwork too, I shall go and peruse!
ETA: I already saw it. Dang, and I hoped for something new....;)

I'm totally behind on reading myself, sadly I couldn't focus while sick, so no catching up on that, which made me feel even more disconnected with fandom.
!There will be new art revealed next week, dundundunnnn.

What a fun concept, 'Kletsen & Proeven'. Glad you had fun. :D
Those two pictures are really cute. :3

It was such a lovely place to sit and talk, nice and spacey too, so not bothered by a noisy crowd:)
Thankies:)

And yay for finding the vid of JDM's panel. That was awesome to get to watch. Normally I don't stalk twitter on Con weekends, I just wait for the superfantastic f-list to start posting, but I just couldn't help it with JDM being there! It was awesome!
And nomnomnom your dinner with your mom! And let me just say this before I forget to later... we can definitely share at Tillman's because I am hoping that it completely lives up to my expectations and be hard to pick what to order. :)
And awwww much cuteness with your nephew!!

I'm hoping for more sharing fanpeople during Asylum in 4 weeks, I'll be sure to follow the tags all over the internet! (I keep my fingers crossed someone will do a follow up on that 'John in Vietnam PTSD' question that stumped Jeff, that would be awesome;)
