Land of Art Phase 14 Round up! [Graphic designs]
Woohoo, Phase 14 of
landofart is finished, points have been awarded and my team PopArt came in third! (Out of three teams, but *blows raspberries*;) There were a few challenges I didn't create art for: one was a nostalgic look back at old designs (Ch20), another was a quick draw doodle thing (Ch19), and I handed in Golden Tickets for two challenges that I didn't have time for (Ch11+17). But there are still plenty of graphic designs to share: I made filmposters and loads of tumblr graphics, icons and wallpapers! (Click for full size images:)
Challenge 3 - Hide & Seek (FINAL ROUND)
The one continuous challenge throughout Phase 14: where you create graphics based on given themes. Each piece you make is a vote for that theme to be included in the next round. In this final round you could also score points if you guessed correctly which theme was going to win, which I am terrible at. In the end it turned out we had made the most art for theme Shapes. Of course most of my votes had gone to another theme: Yellow:) I made three Tumblr graphics

For theme YELLOW: scene with Nick Stokes and Greg Sannders from CSI: S09Ep16 - Turn Turn Turn

Two more scenes with Nick & Greg, left one for theme YELLOW from CSI: S07Ep18 - Empty Eyes
and for theme SHAPES from CSI: S02Ep17 - Felonious Monk
(Made a filter using a piece of art called "Confused Shapes" by liavanelffenbrinck.com)
Challenge 16 - Deciphering the Truth [QUIZ!]
For this challenge everyone submitted sigtag sized images (300x150) showcasing a ship, tv show, movie, video game, and/or character. In a later round others had to guess who or what was featured. I've also included the clues. Can you guess each one?
CHARACTERS

1. Clue: gay law student who learns how to get away with murder.
2. Clue: This Irish singer reminds Holly of her deceased husband Gerry.
MOVIES

3. Clue: A faun tells a little girl she needs to participate in three tasks to prove her royalty.
4. Clue: movie based on comic book about an elite US Special Forces Unit who get betrayed and vow to take revenge.
GAMES

5. Clue: legendary DOS game with a little ant that has to rearrange dominoes and topple them over.
SHIPS

6. Clue: Chivalrous Crime Scene Investigator and a geeky Lab Tech at the Las Vegas Crime Lab.
7. Clue: Moony eyed Marauders: a werewolf and an animagus black dog
TV-SHOWS

8. Clue: American procedural forensics drama about scientists squad in Las Vegas
9. Clue: British television series that chronicles the lives of three gay men living in Manchester.
Challenge 18 - I Really Wanted to Like You
This challenge was all about creating movie posters or moodboards of movies that you thought was going to be epic, only to be disappointed once you watched it. I made 4 posters (500x700).

Big Fish (2003) - Not as fantastic as I had hoped, the story telling was rather slooooow and the overload of flashbacks bored me.
In Her Shoes (2005) - I love Toni Collette, but my goodness this movie was so dumb and superficial.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) - Probably fascinating for people who are into spy flicks, but despite the abundance of great actors this turned out to be as interesting as watching paint dry.
The Stepford Wives (2004) - Such a great novel and a few of my favorite actors but they turned a creepy story into a camp-comedy version and I was very disappointed.
Challenge 15 - Colors of the Rainbow
Create icons with a rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. I chose to use only screencaps from Supernatural S04Ep07 It's A Terrible Life. These icons were handed in anonymously for a community vote. Only one icon didn't get any support to place in the top 5, aaahw. I guess my green Dean Smith Bruce Banner joke was a bit too meta;)

Challenge 13 - Gotta Catch'em All
A group challenge creating art using characters that must fit into 6 types that your team selects, to make up a list of 100 characters. My Team Pop Art came up with the following categories: Fighters/Redheads/Villains/Aliens/Magic Users/Smart Characters; each of these would get 15 characters, plus there were 10 'freebies' that could go in the Mystery category. You could score individual points for each graphic you submitted, the team would get points for each character plus a bonus of 1,000 for completing all 100 characters. WE SCORED FULL POINTS, WOOHOO!
Here are the characters I made graphic designs for. Do you agree with the category I put them in?
Type I: Fighters (AKA characters who know how to fight)

Tumblr Graphic of Nick Stokes (CSI)

Wallpaper of Sarah (Orphan Black)
Type II: Redheads

Sigtags of Catherine Willows (CSI) and Willow Rosenburg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Type III: Villains

Tumblr Graphic of Sharkey (Uncaged - film 1991)
