David Eggers - A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (Best American Book Ever imo)
Stephen Fry - The Hippopotamus: reread it 23-10; I still recommend it:)
Douglas R. Hofstadter - Gödel, Escher, Bach
Both these lists will be kept as up to date as possible for 2007.
