Why I love my job
Mar. 23rd, 2006 09:51 pmForget New York, I *have* to go to London because... The New Statesman is back and live on the New Wimbledon Theatre's stage for one week only! Rik Mayall recreates his role as the ultra-Right wing Tory Alan B'Stard - made (in)famous through the comedy TV series 'The New Stateman'. Eeeeek! Rik is back! But only one week? WTF? Monday 24 to Saturday 29 April 2006, sigh, I don't think I'm gonna be able to get time off or score a ticket for that. Bastard indeed. I saw Rik on the BBC-news and -damn- he looked gooood. I really wish I could arrange a trip to follow him around his tour through the UK. Shit.
At work I've been struggling with two designs (for different companies) and since my mind went blank I *had* to go online for inspiration (gotta love the job where you can use that as an excuse to surf the www;) I found two very interesting comics-websites: I Drew This (Political comics and commentary) and This Modern World (check out the CartoonArchives, I liked this one) and I also came across some stuff to kickstart my brain.
So I managed to finish both assignments today and now I'm working on a proposal for a new magazine. And since I need a lot of pictures to make a presentation, I have another great excuse to check out websites in relation to the different articles. Woohoo.
