I don't want to jinx this...
Nov. 2nd, 2007 11:18 pmPart five in the series of Things that made me smile today is a big revelation: on Wednesday I woke up without backpain for the first time in weeks (months?)! I still had trouble moving the rest of the day, so I didn't want to get my hopes up. But yesterday the lack of pain in the morning lasted even longer and I could get dressed without grunting. The rest of the day there were more moments without pain, even after sitting down for considerate amounts of time. I've been trying to consciously enjoy these moments, in fear of it only being a temporary thing. But today was even better! This morning my walk down the stairs felt more like dancing and I didn't experience any stiffness after the busride to work.
I treasure all the things I can do now that seemed so normal a long time ago and so impossible for the past weeks (months). Best bit: being able to do one of those ridiculously loud yawny stretches in the morning, complete with smacking noises after and then turning over to snuggle the pillow a little while longer.*g* So much better than not being able to roll over to my other side or having to get up because lying down is just too fucking painful.
I don't know what caused this improvement, maybe my body is trying to spare me for the pending pms/period and has decided to not give me a double dose of joy to deal with. But the back has never been that considerate before, so I doubt that's it.
I haven't really changed my routine, if anything I've been treating my body very badly the past few days. I've been working late a lot, thus staying glued in my chair, skipping most dinners, instead eating massive amounts of chocolate-covered hazelnuts while continuing to work. *blinks* OMG I think I may have stumbled on a cure.
I will investigate this further next week, when there will be more overtime (and chocolate covered hazelnuts;)
Happy subjects part 1 - 4:a lovely smell and porny pictures book! music & mocking Bob
