Well embarrassing
Apr. 22nd, 2008 10:01 pmNo work today, but an intense course down South in Nijmegen. I had to get up at 6 a.m. (SIX AM!) to catch the 07.20 train. I handled that more relaxed than I had anticipated. Until the ticket-inspector came by and noted that I wasn't allowed to travel on a discount ticket (on account of it being before nine o'clock). Fuck, I totally hadn't thought of that. Fortunately the guy believed my shocked response, so I didn't have to pay 35 euros (that would be a THIRTY-FIVE EURO FINE, there is no possibility to simply buy a proper ticket, bastard railway - FYI my return ticket -with discount was under 16 euros) and I got away with a warning. While changing trains I bought a regular ticket for the rest of my trip, because I'm a good girl.
I had a great time studying today. And not just because the course included a very good meal at a full service Chinese restaurant :). My fellow-students started yesterday, I'm doing a speedy version of the program. Around 3 p.m. I had caught up and surpassed them. That felt great too:)
Two more days next week. I can't wait to continue. I love to learn when there is no homework involved:)
