Quick update on the broken arm. Apparently it takes AT LEAST 4 weeks to heal and since I didn't know my arm was broken until a week after the accident and consequently didn't treat it properly, it can take quite some time before it's completely better. The doctor at the hospital even hinted at permanent issues with stretching, but I'm not considering that yet.

I wanted to do a happy post instead of focusing on the woe, so I'd like to share a giggle. After my elbow was wrapped in a pressure bandage on Monday I was wondering why looking at my taped arm made me think of sex:

It took me a while to figure it out, but when my screensaver went through my collection of pretty pictures, I got it:

What? Don't tell me you don't see it?
This photo clearly has a special place in my subconscious. *grins*

Yesterday I walked to the supermarket in my neighbourhood (after last Wednesday's painful effort, I'm avoiding cycling until I can actually use my leftarm for support when getting off my bike). It was very windy and I made some vids and photos:

Watch the leaves swirl from 0:28 :-)

I could barely keep standing while filming this!

A couple more photos here, including a self portrait;)

When I got back home I returned to the therapy I started on Friday: since I was presribed rest and there really is not a lot one can do that doesn't require at least assistence of a left arm (...) I decided to sit down for a WestWing marathon. I watched 13 episodes on Friday and yesterday I managed the first 8 episodes of Season 2. My arm feels a lot better now;)

Mom is taking me to the arthouse for Sonny Boy this afternoon and afterwards she's making me dinner at her place. Mom is awesome.

That's one handsome guy.

On a side note, I have never seen a movie from the Netherlands, at least not to my knowledge. Let me know how "Sonny Boy" is, and maybe I will take a look if I can find a subtitled version. :o)

Hahaha, I totally see it. Oh, subconscious, you funny thing.

It really has been super windy over here as well, but I've been throwing open all my windows, and now my apartment smells like wind and springtime, so I totally don't mind.

(Your mom rocks! Glad the West Wing helped heal your arm, tee hee!)

Heehee, I totally see it. :'3

Oh man, 4 weeks? That sucks. I'll be sending healing vibes your way.

It has been very windy over here as well. It's kinda ridiculous actually. :'3 But awesome pictures and video's. :D

He's delish, isn't he? I recently rewatched The Accidental Husband, which besides the handsome Jeffrey Dean Morgan also has Uma Thurman and Colin Firth. Quite a predictable romcom, but so much fun. (I'd watch a movie for either one of them;)

As Dutch movies go, Sonny Boy is quite a slow burner. It's based on a true story; my mom read the book and she said it was well done. I liked the film okay, but it may be more enjoyable if you know the book.
Most of the Dutch movies I loved probably aren't available for the foreign market;) But there is one film I always recommend to those who want a good taste of the Netherlands and 'our' filmmaking. My favorite movie of all time is Soldaat van Oranje (Soldier of Orange) by Paul Verhoeven with Rutger Hauer (both of whom I suspect you've heard of), it was made in 1977 and it's still as impressive now as it was then.

:-)

I can't open my windows safely: the wind is just too much of a good thing.

Oh, my mom made such a marvelous dinner and had saved a special dessert, just for me, omnomnom. *rubs tummy*

The wind was ridiculous, even if I had both hands available I would have had trouble cycling;)

JDM is my guilty pleasure for too many reasons *g*

Heh. I KNOW why that photo is burned into my brain;)

Thank you!

I'm still practising making vids with my camera; next time I hope to catch a close up of those leaves.

When I saw Ironman my reaction to RDJ was like WHOA HOT! and while he certainly is, I thought "wow, that's kind of a strong reaction, given the givens" and then I saw a pic of JDM again and went, "oh, well DUH" Because JDM is hot like burning and I've been ridiculously into him since season 1 of SPN. :D

Thank you. I went back to work and even though it was exhausting my arm and I survived. We'll see how the rest of the week goes...

You had me racking my brain to figure out RDJ, because obviously I'm dumb. *grins* I avoided Ironman because of my beardissues. Which I of course totally ignore when it comes to JDM;)
I may have already told you that I'm not that emotionally invested in SPN and I have yet to see season 1, actually. *hides from the wrath of fangirls*
My infatuation with JDM is mostly based on Grey's Anatomy (which I started watching because of Patrick Dempsey;) and was strengthened by The Accidental Husband. The guy is just too fucking charming.

John Winchester was...an ass. Honestly, if Dean didn't love John and Sam as much as he did I never would have given them much of a chance. But JDM did an amazing job at humanizing the character, particularly within the restraints of the show.

I ADORED him in The Losers. He was a mostly good guy that didn't die. It was like a fucking miracle. :D

Yeah, I heard that before. That's why Sillie didn't include those episodes when she tried to convert me to an SPN fangirl (well, that and the beard, because she was aware of my issues;).

Thanks for mentioning the Losers, that reminded me I meant to order the DVD. I should get it within two weeks. Can't wait to see BAMF-JDM;)

Normally I'm not one for facial or chest hair, but JDM is quite an exception. :D

I think I'll watch The Losers again this week. It makes me happy.
