Date: 2014-04-22 10:20 pm (UTC)I don't know what was my first film - but I do remember watching Xanadu at Lillestrøm kino (Lillestrøm cinema) before it was closed in 1987. (A new, modern, 5 screen cinema was opened in Lillestrøm in 2005) Xanadu was released in 1980, and films always came late to Norway - and Lillestrøm was not at all first in line for the film rolls in Norway - so I guess I could have been around 7 - 8 when I saw it.
I also remember going to Colloseum (the largest screen in Oslo) to watch E.T when I was 9 years old. It had "12 Year" rating in Norway, which means you had to be 12+ to see it alone, or 10+ too see it in company of grown-ups. The ticket control man looked at me asking me my age - and my dad lied and said "10". The guy then said he was asking me and not my dad - and I was so scared I couldn't say a word. I only nodded when he asked me if it was true that I was actually 10.
Also - there was scenes in there that scared the crap out of me. I had nightmares for months! Hehe - I often had nightmares when I was a kid.
