WIP artproject 2014: part 4

Woah, my flist is buzzing with the December meme and other need-to-read posts. Unfortunately I haven't had time to check it all out yet and I also need to reply to comments in my own journal. I'll plan to get to all that later (tomorrow at the latest). First I want to share another update on my personal paperproject:) I'd love to hear what you think of it so far!
wingsWIP 1: set up and testing | wingsWIP 2: picking patterns | wingsWIP 3: resizing and doodling
Time for part 4 of the work in progress: cutting wings

As you may have noticed in the previous wip-post, my lighttable is now closer to the window, to make maximum use of the daylight in winter (plus I only need to turn around to reach my computer:)

Oh, hey, hello, black bird on my balcony!
Before I can start cutting the wings again (now for realsies) I need to figure out how they relate to the body. I plan to connect them to the shoulderblades... (Don't know how yet, have some ideas, will need to experiment;)

I cleaned up the original wing sketch and patterns, time to cut! I'm using two layers to create identical sets of wings. I'm contemplating adding an extra dimension, but I also might need the extra set if I mess up cutting details later *grins*

Ooh, that negative cut out shape is also giving me ideas...
Will play with that in my next update when I also start sketching Jeff, dundundunnnn. To be continued!! >> part 5 is up!
FYI: yesterday I posted an Amsterdam picspam featuring architecture, the Lightfestival and the wintermarket on Rembrandt's Square with a Christmas.... Moose(?!)
