Couple of questions for the ladies

Finished that menstruation book I was raving about yesterday \o/. Besides being a lot of fun to read, it was quite educational in a non-stuffy way. The book also reminded me I had meant to look for alternative for pads in combination with my menstrual cup. I could use some advice on this. Ever since I started menstruating, ooh about 30 years ago, I've used pads. I never felt comfortable with tampons for several reasons: too much hassle, too sensually sensitive to fiddle about with them and I'd still need added pads, which seemed to me to make the tampon redundant.
When I learned about the menstrual cup, I was hesitant for those same reasons. Concerned about the massive amount of waste and the non biodegradable materials used in pads, I decided to try it anyway. In 2006 I started using the menstrual cup (during the day) and after a couple of months of trial and error I was converted. It reduced the amount of pads I needed tremendously and I feel much cleaner than with pads only.
Because I feel safer with an extra layer of protection, I didn't stop using pads completely. But I need to change them a lot less and only use pantyliners on lighter days. I don't use the cup during the night.
For ecological reasons I would really love to minimize the amount of waste even more, so I was wondering about the reusable pads, the kind made out of cloth. I'm sure I can find a lot of additional information online, but I would love some personal input.
If anyone would care to share, I'd very much appreciate it; feel free to PM or mail me if you don't want to reply in public! Here are the questions that came to my mind:
How many times would you change a cloth pad? Currently I try to replace my pads every three to four hours, but I just leave them in all at night (when I don't use the cup). Is it the same for cloth or less? I don't use pads with wings, regular ones work just fine for me (I hate wings ever since I tried them -when they first came on the market- and the fucking things just kept sticking to my inner thigh, hrmpf. I'd walk like I was wearing a diaper), but so far I've only seen the cloth pads with wings and buttons; do you know of other options? If I have leakage now, I simply throw my underwear and other stained clothes in the hamper for my next round of laundry; do the cloth pads require more care? I see lots of brands, but also personal designs. Do I need to look for certain fabric?
Help!
Thanks for listening:) Feel free to talk about any experience with periods or femcare products. If you have any questions about the cup, I'll gladly answer them!
