Just when I thought I might actually be able to cross off all the books on my to read list 2007 before the end of the year, brotherdearest comes by to lend me another book by Douglas R. Hofstadter. I don't know if I can resist putting this book on top of my list. Hofstadter is known and loved by nerds worldwide because of his masterpiece Gödel, Escher, Bach: an eternal Golden Braid which I loved with a passion.
But I will try to stick to my original plan and save this one for next year: Metamagical Themas: questing for the essence of mind and pattern. Oh how I wish I had unlimited time to read.

Mmm, unlimited time to read would be great! Part of the reason I'm looking forward to my 16 days off (7 of which I'm at the coast and effectively out of touch) is being able to read lots. :)

I finished three books today: 3! On the bus, on a weekday! The mind boggles what will happen if I have actually time at home to sit down in my comfy reading chair:)
I'm counting down to the days off:)

Hey, cute icon "hottest dork". Heh.

I often wish the same thing myself. I mean, it's like, I have this pile of 30 new books I haven't read and yet I've decided to throw myself into re-reading Jane Eyre, Wide Sargasso Sea and The Eyre Affair. Crazy.

It's such a nice dream. I keep on adding books myself: I received my pretty hardcover edition of Hero in the mail this week. Another one for the top of my list;)
OH, it's crazy, but good crazy:)

Aw, I would also like unlimited reading time, please! Am on the brink of finishing Black Swan Green, finally, and planning to start Volume I of the Golden Compass tonight. Yay for having only three shifts today (as opposed to 8 on Monday, grr)!

I'm still planning to read Gödel, Escher, Bach some day, really truly. I keep saying 'I'm bound to finish my to read list in order eventually', but it'll never happen if I keep buying new stuff and reading it before everything else, lol.

I started De Oratore from Cicero today, but I'm having a hard time getting into the spirit. Especially since there are easier to love books whispering my name: "Read me, read me."

Well, at least we don't have to worry about making a new and exciting readinglist for 2008:)
