I've decided not to buy biodegradable pads anymore. I really tried, but the texture of these environmentally friendly pads is the same as the huge old fashioned ones they used to provide in hospitals (bought cheap in bulk I suppose) - the women in my family would lovingly refer to wearing those big ol' pads as "walking around with a loaf of bread between your legs"

I'm sorry, nature. There is only so much discomfort I'm willing to suffer for the sake of the environment.

Some people swear by the cup thing. It's resuable.

I've never tried it though.

That's how I feel about toilet paper. Nobody should subject themselves to that sandpaper that tries to pass itself off as the real things.

Sometimes, you just have to go for comfort. I switched to thin, washable cloth pads for my extra protection (I use the cup) on heavy days, and they're awesome, but it's a matter of taste. Some people hate them. I think they're super soft and forget they're even there. I totally couldn't do the environmentally friendly pads, either. Seriously. If you have to change the way you walk, there's a problem with your pad.
