What would you have done?

I thought about not posting the violent events of last night, but that would be the cowardly thing to do. So here is the whole story about how J. lost her temper and kicked a woman's butt. Literally.

I did a double feature with my mom at the arthouse, first film was 'Happy Go Lucky' and after that we sat down to watch 'I'm Not There' (About the life of Bob Dylan).
As soon as I noticed the two talkers in front of me (a sideway chess move away) I asked them politely to "enjoy the film in silence, so others could do the same". Unfortunately that request had no effect whatsoever. Not only did the guy feel the need to sing along with every song, he and his wife(?) also had to loudly proclaim their knowledge about every alias-character in the film, letting the rest of the audience know who it was supposed to be. Gddammit. They did this all through the film: 137 minutes long.
During the credits I thanked them for all their comments and songs and told them to rent the next film on DVD to watch it on the couch at home.
That would have been that, had it not been for an additional annoyance in the wardrobe-area.

I had to wait for my mom in the hallway. And while the guy went to the toilet, the woman lit her cigaret inside and stood in the doorway smoking, I closed the doors behind her, but that was too subtle, because she opened them again. Another visitor repeated my explanation about the smoke and closed the doors for me. At that time the guy came back from the toilet and started talking to me. He did not apologize but offered loudly to give me money, so I could watch the film again. No thanks. While I told him it wasn't just my evening he ruined, the woman came back in, cigaret in hand to assist her man. When she came into my safetyzone I warned her, then she came in too close, so I used force (my knee) to push her outside. That's when her husband jumped in and pulled her away from me. Smart move.

Let this be a warning for others who think they can get away with poisoning me.

Another thing: maybe the silent majority could open their mouth next time someone is misbehaving? It's rather exhausting to be the only one with the guts to speak up. It doesn't really help to agree afterwards ("Oh, yes, they were very annoying"). Duh.

*takes a bow* I wish I could have convinced them with words, alas they were both not clever enough to understand. I at least hope they will remember this next time they plan to open their mouth during a film or when lighting up.
