No far away trip for me this summervacation, but I got a new toothbrush, a fresh bar of soap and I'm going to put clean sheets and a summer duvet on my bed tonight, so it will feel like I'm in a fancy hotel;)

I want to try and update my journal every day for the next two weeks, not because I'll have a lot to tell (or maybe I do, who knows what will happen) but mainly because I am going to need some sort of daily schedule to keep track of time. *grins*

I already did most of my grocery shopping yesterday after work (made all my deadlines, yay, it makes this vacation so much more relaxing;) - this afternoon I mainly went out to
1. get out of the house
2. buy some stuff I forgot (margarine!) and
3. to treat myself to some new NSFW toys.
Last weekend my Whooper Swan went into a coma and I was unable to revive it, so I had to get a new one (stupidly I didn't register online when I bought it in 2011 or I would have been able to replace it cheaply thanks to Swan's 10 year guarantee, silly me). Before it died on me I had already put another Swan on my wishlist, and after I discovered my pay for that teaching job on my account this morning, I thought I might get myself both the trusted Whooper and a fancy new model, BECAUSE I'M WORTH IT;)
It was crazy busy in the shop (Christine le Duc), but fortunately they still had ALL THE SWANS to choose from. Most of them were conveniently on display to touch and check vibrations and I was even allowed to take the latest model (the Feather) out of the box to compare sizes:) After I had made my choice the shoplady wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into with the Royal Swan, heehee. After she checked my knowledge we talked a little more about the other options, but I stuck to my initial choice because I think that one complements my much beloved Whooper features.

Other chores I did today: laundry and garbage. I also sat down on the couch to read, which is probably my biggest achievement for today, considering all the available distractions on the internet, ha! My last assignment for today is to catch up on my flist.

Other vacation plans for the next two weeks:
  • Tomorrow I'm going to the Arthouse with my mom for an early morning showing of The Company You Keep;
  • At 2pm SanDiego time, which will be 23:00 on my side of the world, I'm hoping to watch the NerdHQ talk with Jared and Jensen (should be streaming live on the Nerdmachine YT);
  • Very early on Mondaymorning I will try to call the railservice in Australia to order my train pass for December and book a ticket for the Indian Pacific from Perth to Sydney;
  • Monday afternoon [ profile] sillie82 is coming over for three days of fangirling over CSI (S13), SPN (S8) and Being Human (original UK series obv;);
  • I have massages scheduled for Monday July 29 and Friday August 2. \o/

  • On the days in between I hope to buy a new camera (Canon Ixus, probably a 140HS), shop for swimwear (ahahahahaha), unfuck my kitchen, get one of my bicycles fixed, decorate my back balcony (with that darling purple bench I got from brotherdearest) and work on that never ending jigsaw puzzle (2000 pieces).

    Right now I'm gonna get the laundry in from the balcony and do some folding before I'm gonna test my new toys.

    Do you have vacation plans or are you working this summer?

    Been there, done that. Is it not amazing how much you can be rejuvenated by the simplest things?

    from Perth to Sydney

    O_O Hell of a journey via train -- is that a weeklong trip?

    unfuck my kitchen

    Sorry, but this sent me into an unexpected fit of giggles.

    Enjoy your vacation! And your Swans! ;)

    Finally, thanks so much for the Nerdmachine link! \o/

    Oh, forgot to mention neatly folded new toilet roll; it's the little things;)

    Train leaves Perth on Sunday, arrives in Sydney on Wednesday, so three days of travel. I can't wait, I love trains! (My longest trip in one go was the Transsiberia Express, that was five days from Moscow to Ulan Bator (and then another two days to Beijing:)

    Thank you, will do and you're welcome!

    Staycations can be just as good as vacations :) That's what I'm doing this year since I can't afford to go anywhere. But I love your idea of fresh linens and a new toothbrush and bar of soap. :)

    And you are worth it - hope you have fun testing those new toys out. ;)

    Oooh, new camera! And haha to unfucking your kitchen - I like the description as I need to do that with my closet.

    Will you be taking a photo of your balcony when you get it decorated? I hope so. :) (Why yes, that was some subtle pleading. lol) ♥

    OOh, that's a great word for it!

    Freshly made bed was such a joy (as were the toys *g*)

    Yeah, kitchen is not the only space that needs my attention; should do a thorough check of discardable clothes too.

    I'll probably make a whole photoseries of the work in progress on the balcony :-p

    She did! And she tried to explain that the small size of the Feather Swan was deceptive ("Hoe zeg ik dit netjes" she said, heehee, I told her she could use whatever words she wanted;)

    So far my vacation is not too shabby \o/ (Hi back from S.!)
