A couple of weeks ago I invited [livejournal.com profile] tanisafan for a Harry Potter Marathon, to prepare for the fifth film The Order Of The Phoenix that will be released in cinemas in July. Fridaynight she came over all the way from Belgium to spend time with little old me and Harry in the attic...

Since we wanted to see the four films in one sitting, we planned to watch those on Saturday. So by way of getting to know each other better we spent Fridaynight hanging out, talking and watching Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, a brilliant film with Tim Roth and Gary Oldman playing two characters from Hamlet, who both don't have a clue what's going on around them. It's all very meta ("We're actors! We're the opposite of people!") and I was pleased to find out Tanni was on the same wavelength and liked it as much as I did.
Rosencrantz: Shouldn't we be doing something... constructive?
Guildenstern: What did you have in mind? A short, blunt human pyramid?
FYI: One of the mindgames in the film was the inspiration for a short Nick/Greg flirting fanficlet by Daniela: 'Questions'

Saturday was Harry Potter day: after breakfast we watched The Philosopher's Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet Of Fire. We enjoyed the story more with every other film. (Also because for the last two films, we allowed ourselves to fangirl over the youngsters. They are growing up lovely, bless them. *giggle*;) We only had pottybreaks in between and brought lunch upstairs. We finished the marathon around 9 pm and then I made my famous spinach-pasta-dish. For dessert I served Ben & Jerry's Half Baked 2Twisted, to make sure there was no complaining about the food (I'm very clever;)

After dinner we were in the mood for more fangirling, so we went back to the attic for Torchwood and some CSI MusicVids. Awesome. Sweet dreams.

Sundaymorning Tanni made me watch Casanova, the miniseries by Russel T. Davies, who also wrote Queer As Folk, the new Dr. Who and Torchwood. The man writes great dialogues...:
Giacomo Casanova: If you need advice, I'm very good.
Grimani: How could you possibly advise me? You're a con-man, I'm an ambassador. I have a wife, you have whores. I have children, you have a bastard.
Giacomo Casanova: Look, if you want a measuring contest I'll drop my pants right now and I'll win.
Grimani: You talk like a pervert.
Giacomo Casanova: No, I'm just not scared of what's down there, that's all. Tell me, is cock fighting illegal in this country? 'Cause that's what this is.
Grimani: You sound more in love with men than women.
Giacomo Casanova: Men I understand. I know what men think about, all day long. Those stupid little inches, driving you mad every waking hour. I know exactly what's going on in your head. Is it big? Is it big enough? Is it hard enough, will it work every time on demand; cause that's the only thing, that is the only bastard question - am I any good in bed? Is every other man better than me? Is every other man bigger and faster and slower and longer and deeper and harder - what am I doing wrong? How do I find out, cause no one ever talks about it, no one ever says. How can I ever find out what I'm doing wrong?
Ask me.

David Tennant was a delicious Casanova, despite his blue contacts, those kind of freaked me out. Still: yum.

After lunch we found we still had some time left before [livejournal.com profile] guinny_hamilton would come to pick [livejournal.com profile] tanisafan up to take her to a concert and continue her trip up north. So we watched some Rik Mayall's storytelling (Grim Tales: Hansel en Gretel) and two CSIs: Rashomana for Nekkid!Nick and Slaves Of Las Vegas - to get the old Lady Heather back into our memory;) Sighs of satisfaction were plenty:)

Sadly at the end of the afternoon Tanni turned green and asked for an aspirine. (I'm pretty sure it wasn't my cooking). By the time Guinny arrived it had gotten worse, as it turns out the Saridon-painkiller I had supplied had paracetamol inside, which made Tanni even more nauseaus. Guinny and I made her go to bed for a nap, while we finished diner and hung out, talking and watching YouTube;). When Tanni woke up, she still wasn't fit to travel, so we decided she would stay with me and resume the journey on Monday.
Although I felt guilty and sad for making Tanni sick, it was a blast to spend another evening together. We hung on the couch to watch CSI (What? It happened to be on tv. Coincident? Me thinks not;)
After that we had a great discussion about Louis Theroux's visit to 'the most hated family in America' (The Westboro Baptist Church-community) Well, we yelled at the tv a lot, it was a very one-sided argument;) Apparently we are gay-enablers!
We also had fun watching The Mike and Thomas show and Graham Norton's talkshow on the BBC. Unfortunately Rupert Everett was a guest, his aweful facelift still gives me nightmares. Why Rupert? WHY? :'-(
Luckily the whole day had worn me out (in a totally good way) and I managed to have a good night sleep after all. Wahey!

This morning Tanni went home. Because of an accident on the railway, she will have to make a detour going south. But she planned to do some fanfic-writing on the train, so I'm secretely hoping for a longer journey, because I'm graving some new fic *g*. Yes, even after a weekend filled with fun and fangirling.

Dudes, I could get used to having awesome people around. It's a bit scary: what's happening to me? *hides*

ETA: pictures!

I'm glad you both had a good time...minus the sick part of course! The picture of the two of you is cute...you gay enabler, you! It is scary when we let people in. But when it's good people like Tanni? It's really not too bad.

The sick part was no fun, but luckily it was at the end and everything turned out okay after all. So far the flist has managed to restore some of my faith in people. There are good people out there. Did I say good? I meant to say awesome! (And the invitation still stands, even if you can't handle Harry;)

Thanks! I just might take you up on that! I love the whole LJ thing...I've met more people that I can talk too on it than in 30 years of real world interaction. The not living close sucks...but than many r/w friends move far apart too. Yes, you're quite right...it does restore faith in humanity!

Heh. I still confuse FTW with WTF (as in "fuck the world";), but I'm pretty sure you meant it as a compliment *blushes*.

Meh. It's such a small group of people we really shouldn't bother with them, especially since they offer no solution for the problems in the world. What a total bunch of losers. I admire Louis for staying civilised. I couldn't have done it.

I made it home, yay me! Transfers at Schiphol are no fun though. Hello to the throngs of busy people with Humongous Suitcases. Hmpf.

But: squee! And heh, I had an awesome time. I am currently playing with my Lego *blushes*, will post pics when it's done!
I just read the ficlet, too. It's just as fast-paced as Gary and Tim do it :|. Love it!

Oh dude. I can't believe those people are taking up valuable Youtube space. Jeebus.

Okay, I should sleep. Or try to :p. *still bouncing with Happy*

Yay for getting home safely!

Heh. I almost forgot about the Lego: good luck with that;)

I got lost on the quotes-page of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead Awesome, awesome dialogue. *bows down to writers*

Dude: those people have a lot of creepy websites as well. But how many of them were there? 60? 70? Such a small group and seeing as those kids weren't allowed to marry an procreate, they will be gone soon. Pfew.

Go to sleep darling, and have sweet dreams:)

Damn, that quotes page owns me.
Rosencrantz: The toenails, on the other hand, never grow at all.
Guildenstern: The toenails on the other FOOT never grow at all.
Rosencrantz: ...no.

Bless 'em!

I'm glad the creepy family doesn't feel the need to procreate. I mean, poor children, for one!

Heh. I know. But the whole idea of someone willing to visit me is still overwhelming;)

Dude, you have to see that series: Casanova is awesomeness all around. Or you know, try anything written by Russel T. Davies, for his world is what we both dream of:)

Hmmm, did you forget to type a t? Because I never thought I'd say it but at the same time I'm in denial of actually liking people. The flist might be the only few sane and awesome people around;) I still have my doubts about the rest of the world.
