More fangirling after my fantabulous USA-roadtrip with [livejournal.com profile] tmn1966: back home I welcomed [livejournal.com profile] sillie82 for a dose of Extant/Supernatural/Dark Angel. We also watched Jeffrey Dean Morgan's very first film Uncaged/Angel in Red (1991). There was much giggling over 25 year old bad boy pimp Jeff who goes crazy when "his ladies" leave him for other pimps. His name was Sharkey *snorts* and apparently his mommy ran out on him when he was a kid and he had "issues". Jeff was wearing very -VERY- tight jeans and although I hardly ever notice those things, even I could tell he was dressing to the left. *shifty eyes*

Today I spent hours writing letters, filling in forms and collecting documents for my insurance company and United airlines to find out whether I can claim compensation for the cancelled flight and lost luggage. (I refrained from going full Padalecki on Twitter when all this was going on because I didn't want to endanger my flight back home;)

When all that was done, I finally did that Fanfic Trope Meme/quiz thingy:

ULTIMATE FANFIC TROPE SHOWDOWN v2.1

Very accurate, except my age-difference preference requires no time travelling :-D

Now I'm going to check out that email from the unemployment agency, get the laundry off the balcony, put away my clean dishes and then I will start sorting out those roadtrip photos! Prepare for a picspam *g*

beelikej: (YouSuck)
I have 45 minutes to kill until my Sauerkraut ovendish is done, so I figured I could do this 99 questions meme I stole from [livejournal.com profile] sillie82 and others on my flist;)

1. Real name: Judith
2. Nickname: Don't have one
3. Favourite colour: Turquoise

More answers! )

I hope to get back to LJ more regularly, maybe later this week I'll finally do a picspam of stuff I've been wanting to share... But first: DINNER, yay, I just heard the kitchen timer ring. Woot woot \o/ *runs to kitchen*
beelikej: (Canon CSI Nick & Greg)
Look at me, filling in a meme within a day of being tagged! But first a little update. I'm pretty sure I caught up with answering comments and checking up on my flist, if I did miss anything, poke me! Also: I made a couple of new SPN friends this week: hi! *waves*
In other fandom news: tonight is the final of CSI season 15 already. I still need to watch a lot of episodes before I can admit to what's going to happen. No spoilers, but thanks to my mod duties I already know it will have an effect on one of my eldest OTPs, dundundunnn...

Fortunately I still have the Supernatural guys to play with for another season, they will pull me through;) I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] smpc in April and am looking forward to claiming in [livejournal.com profile] spn_cinema and [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang. I'm happy to reveal that my next fanart-project is a collaboration with [livejournal.com profile] dugindeep \o/ We haven't settled on a posting date for this polyamorous (...) story yet, but I'll keep y'all posted on the progress;)

And now, without further ado.... The Letter Meme
[livejournal.com profile] cassiopeia7 gave me an E. If you want a letter to play, let me know!

Something I hate: EVERYTHING! Just kidding, although I am pretty much a cynical pessimist. Let me think, something with an E... Oooh, I know, I found a film I absolutely hated when looking for an answer to the last question: Employee Of The Month (2007) - I walked out of that. (Don't blame me for going to see it; it was part of the sneak preview program, where you pay for a surprise film)

Something I love: Eyeballs. No seriously, I'm a big fan and have several 'artsy' renditions of eyeballs though my house. I'll be ordering these cuties from Zoozim@Etsy after my next paycheck comes in.
My E-reader, which I have just filled with fanfic again after taking a break from digital reading in favor of getting through my bookpile;)
Also: The Efteling Fairytale Themepark and The Eurovision Songcontest (ssssht)

Somewhere I've been: England (London, a LOT, it's the theatre that's luring me in;), Egypt (2002), Ecuador (2006), Edmonton (Canada 1999), Emmeloord (Netherlands; lived there from when I was 8 until I was 18)

Somewhere I'd like to go: Edinburgh (when I had a chance to go there after walking the West Highland Way in Scotland, I opted for Glasgow (2001)

Someone I know: [livejournal.com profile] eledhwenlin, E. (my boss)

A film I liked: I'm ashamed to admit nothing came to mind immediately, because after I checked my my movieblog I realized I should have remembered Enchanted, which is one of my favorite films of all time. There's animation, Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and singing and dancing plus mocking that. Be still my heart.
Going through my record of cinema visits from 2004-2013, I also discovered some other beauties I'd like to recommend: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004), Elle s'appelait Sarah (2010), Elizabeth (1998 + sequel from 2007), The Edukators (2005) and Elephant (2004). Good thing I write things down, huh? Who knew there were so many good E-movies *g*

Speaking of London: I just booked the Knight bus for the first weekend of April. I'll be available for meet ups on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 (Easter) if anyone is around. (I hope to eat at Choccywoccydoodah and mother Mash, both are near Carnaby Street:)

J.
beelikej: (Tongues!)
Mom did come over for dinner and we both enjoyed my cauliflower oven dish (even though I forget to add the egg to the sauce, oops). Because of the flu she didn't stay for a film, but we did have enough time to catch up and I got to show her all the art thingies I'd been working on in January:) Somehow I forgot about Jeff floating high above on the ceiling, huh. We did have a good talk about kinks though *grins* Now that movienight is cancelled, I have time to do that 39 question meme that's doing the rounds on my flist...

Hope I am not too late to join the meme party )
beelikej: (Doodle Egghead)
Ahw, I only have two art-projects to share for the WIP-meme. Here are teasers of what I'm working on:
<---&--->
I'm not saying what's what, but one will be revealed in two weeks; there is no date yet for the other, but that will probably be presented somewhere in the second half of February. Dundundunnnn.

Behind the cut the Making Of of my latest artpost, if you missed it: that was a nsfw animated drawing of watersports;) so this peek behind the scenes is R-rated too!
Inspiration came from the wonderful story that was written by [livejournal.com profile] tmn1966 in response to my request in the SPN_Kinkmeme. <3
I found a reference photo of the scene I had in mind at Urinallove@Tumblr (So many men pissing. So. Many.) and then I tried to figure out how high a regular home toilet would be for Jensen. (Specific example photo from the stock-image collection at Dreamstime.com and different angles of toilets thanks to a Google search;) Now I understand why men have problems aiming. *grins*
Anyway, here are some steps of the work in progress...

References for toilets and height of average man. Made a composition and manip in Photoshop to position tall Jared Padalecki leaning in the background behind Jensen. (Screenshot from Supernatural S8Ep1 - also used for my artwork for 2013 J2nonAU challenge:)

I printed the manip and turned it into a pencil line sketch, covered that with yellow paper on my lighttable and started dotting the image with black marker.

That style decision was based on the dripping of the urine; I wanted to give the whole piece that feel. That's also the reason for using so much yellow *grins*. (I'm easy to amuse;)
With the lighttable on, you can see the sketch shining through, I would turn the light of to see the progress of the dotted line.

A paper test to see if the yellow marker would work on the yellow paper, it didn't bleed as I had feared (yay!), so I filled in the squares of the tiles in the background.

When that was done, I made a photo of the result, adjusted the colours a little in Photoshop and animated Jared's eyes and Jensen's pee:) Next time I may actually make different drawings for an animation instead of altering the image digitally. Animation is such fun to do.

Aaand that's it! If you haven't seen it yet, here's a link to the final piece: Tadaah!

I'm not quite satisfied with the depth of the flushing unit, the perspective is too wobbly. I was also bummed at not being able to capture Jared's eyes properly; the pencil version was okay, but the marker didn't cooperate. I am pleased with the dotting technique though; that worked out sort of exactly as I had imagined. \o/

If you're not into kinky art, how about the completely G-rated and innocent Making Of of my Xmas cards? (Apparently not everyone discovered the fanart I hid in the snow!)

J.
beelikej: (Artwork by me)
On Friday I got a call from brotherdearest asking if he could come over for dinner on Saturday. Since he would also help me out with a couple of computer issues, he was more than welcome. *grins* I decided it was a good opportunity to try and make a new dish. From a package of course, I'm not THAT adventurous, but still: new thing! I made mashed potato cupcakes \o/ Have some photos of the process!

Last week I posted an arting meme and y'all picked some very challenging questions, that I'm going to answer here. (I'm putting the long answers behind cuts for your convenience:)

If you want to check out my art after all that babbling, here's my masterlist of artsy creations:)

Oh, I also put up a poll to help me decide what book to read next,. Since I didn't get around to reading the Losers comic this weekend, I'm bringing that with me to work tomorrow, so there is still time for you to vote in that:)

J.
beelikej: (Doodle Egghead)
Unfortunately the new ReverseBang dates have the same issues as last year's spread out schedule and based on that experience I had already decided I wouldn't participate if it happened again. To find satisfaction in arting I need be able to be in the moment and that's just not going to work if I need to be available for collaboration over such a long period of time. (Posting won't start until January 2015!? On something that I'd have to start working on now? No. This is not a BigBang, minimum wordcount is 3000) Even though I am sure it's the best choice for me, it still feels like a huge decision. I have conflicted feelings about not joining in, especially since I've been with this challenge since the start. I will still be making the piece I had in mind, but I'll do it in my own time.

Rant over. On to the MEME (if anyone still wants to talk to me;)

Lots of authors on my flist are doing the writing meme and I want to play. I think there was an actual art-meme going around some time ago, but I couldn't find that, so I've changed the current ABC-set to suit artists. Give me a letter/pair of letters and I'll answer your question(s)!

Hi! Before I have lunch, catch up on SPN_J2_BB art, get dressed, do the dishes and leave for the train to The Hague, a quick update on life and my plans for the coming weeks.

Sooooo. I saw this personality test thing pop up on my flist and since I was always rather confused by people referring to them selves as EITJ or ISFP and whatnot, I figured I'd take the test to finally have a proper label for myself *grins* Turns out I'm an ISTJ. Huh.

BeeLikeJ's Personality Type Results

(I'm particularly fond of my J:)

Also: a couple of bulletpoints!
  • I immensily enjoyed watching the livestream of the NerdHQ SPN panel at SD Comic-Con;
  • The guys being dorks is very amusing;
  • BUT! I do have issues with Jared once again using 'being a girl' as an insult;
  • I feel frustrated that he -and others- don't realize this is a problem;
  • I'm disappointed that people are turning this into fandomdrama;
  • Being angry about what someone said does not equal hate;
  • End of statement;)

  • After all the travels in the past year I am only taking a short two week summervacation, but it's already chockful of awesomeness:) Besides several projects to unfuck my house and working on that artwork for my auctionbidder, I have all kinds of fun planned. Yesterday I started my time off with a herbalstamp massage, which was mmmmmmmmmm-delicious.

    Other plans )
So what are you doing this summer?

Just in case you missed it: the massive picspam of my XL weekend of fangirling in Oslo:)
    beelikej: (Oral Fixation)
Finally had time to do [livejournal.com profile] tebtosca's SPN Voice Meme. Please don't ban me from the SPN fandom. *ducks* After two (three?) false starts I recorded it in one go, so forgive the long silences and 'ehms' ;-) My accent is all over the place and I pronounce 'gif' in Dutch. (Just so you know: if I would say it in English, it would be with the G from graphics, not the one from giraffe.) Can you guess my favorite bit of anatomy?

Was dying my hair as I recorded this, which required wearing an actual tinhat for 90 minutes *grins*

Fic mentioned: Becoming Who We Are by [livejournal.com profile] errant_jane (formerly known as eliza_jane)
Artrec: amazing John/Azazel animation by [livejournal.com profile] dephigravity
    More: my artrec tag

Ooooh, have to rinse my hair now *runs to shower*

    Iconmania!

    Mar. 5th, 2014 01:50 pm
    beelikej: (Ernie&Bert IDEK)
Once again I managed to break a meme. It's a miracle I'm not struck by lightning yet for always getting those chain-things broken :-p I'm finally catching up with all the promises I made back in January when I was on a jetlag-high. Here is my response to the icon-meme that was doing its rounds...
    1. Reply to this post and I will pick five of your icons.
    2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
    3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
    4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

(Except of course when you are me and you leave the meme unanswered in your mailbox for months.)

    [livejournal.com profile] cassiopeia7 picked these:
    01. 02. 03. 04. 05.

[livejournal.com profile] firesign10 chose these for me to talk about:
    06. 07. 08. 09. 10.

So now I talk. And talk. And talk some more... )

Well, if that wasn't a disturbing peek into my mind. Bet you're happy you asked.
    beelikej: (Jodie)
    Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] eledhwenlin
    Comment and I will...
    1. Tell you why I friended you. If I remember.
    2. Associate you with something.
    3. Tell you something I like about you.
    4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
    5. Associate you with a character/pairing.
    6. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
    7. Tell you my favourite userpic of yours.
    8. Tell you that you must post this in your own journal.
    beelikej: (Lorne)
The "I've been thinking about how to answer this since April"-MEME
    1. Comment on this post with "MEEEEEE!"
    2. I will give you a letter.
    3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your IJ/LJ/DW.
[livejournal.com profile] tanisafan gave me an S. (Yes, in april. What? I'm thorough.)

    Sid
    [Sliders, episode El Sid]

Oh, come on, how could I not: I had to include a character played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I can't help it; I'm still massively fangirling the man, even though I can't watch his new series because of my issues. For that same reason I should have avoided Sid as well; hell, his horrid beard alone was enough to make me shiver and not in a good way. But it's JDM and he mostly makes me giggle, because Sid is such a dumb ass. *shakes head fondly*
You can find more Sid in all his bad boy glory in this Sliders picspam I made a while ago;)

    Sirius Black
    [Harry Potter]
It wasn't until I reread The Goblet Of Fire that I understood how tight the relationship was between Sirius and Harry; I had forgotten because of the tournament-story-line and because none of it ended up in the film. (You have to watch Prisoner of Azkaban and The Order Of The Phoenix for their most intense scenes). Gary Oldman is the best Sirius I could have imagined, but my favorite will always be the one in the books:)
There is also this result I got in the Ultimate Harry Potter Personality Quiz:

    Just so you know;)
Funniest real life reference to Sirius Black: "I DID MY WAITING"

Seregil í Korit Solun Meringil Bôkthersa
    [Nightrunner books]
I'm not posting an image of Seregil; although he is portrayed -in different ways- on the covers of the book and there is also plenty of fan art, I prefer to keep him in my head as I imagine him from the stories. (Warning: googling may lead to nsfw images;)
He is one of the main characters in another one of my favorite bookseries: Nightrunners. I posted my review of the first two books today! Seregil is the quiet type, but luckily we get to see the world from his point of view and often it's filled with feelings of despair and guilt. I guess I have a thing for characters who are not too cheerful;)

    Sofia Curtis
    [CSI: Crime Scene Investigation]

I desperately wanted a lady in this list and since CSI is still one of my favorite tv-shows, I picked Sofia. Because good old Sara was part of that storyline I ignore (IT NEVER HAPPENED, OKAY) but Sofia was always awesome. I wish she was still a CSI, but she is more than welcome to show up in her new part as a detective. Please, Powers That Be?
(I've been crushing on actrice Louise Lombard ever since The House of Eliott, *sighs*)

    Spike
[Buffy The Vampire Slayer & Angel]

Heh, from this list it looks like I have a thing for bad boys, but you all know that vampire Spike is really a softy inside. His snark and cynicism are mostly used to cover up al his feeeeeeeeeeelings. Ahw.

I'll end with a link to a gifset of one of my favorite Spike-scenes: sitting on a rooftop, giving a running sarcastic commentary on Angel saving a damsel in distress

Well, that's another one of those chores off my "I should really do this when I have time"-list, woohoo. This was fun! I also did some laundry today, which means I have to make my bed as well, so that's a bit of regular housework done, go me). Oh, and I posted a book review (see link above), that's another thing from the vacation-list, hope I keep that up;)

I tried to read today, but was so shocked by the OOC-ness of J2 in the BigBang fic I picked, that I'm scared to try another one. *pouts* Am determined to give it another shot tonight. If you have any recommendations, let me know! There is so much to choose from:)
    beelikej: (Sleepyhead)
Meme-time! I got 7 topics from [livejournal.com profile] eledhwenlin. If you want 7 topics of your own, ask and you shall receive:)

    1.) Your favourite food!
Hmmm, does chocolate count, or does it have to be 'proper' food? I like potatoes in any shape or form; mashed, baked, boiled or cooked in the skin, they go with everything and are the base of most of my dinners.

2.) If you could choose to live in any time and country, what would you choose? (Roman Empire, Middle Ages, the year 2525?)
I quite like the time and place I live in; I don't know if I could/would have the liberty and options that I have now anytime or anywhere else. It's not a very imaginative answer but, really, if I could choose I'd pick my country (and specifically my apartment) right now. Okay, mabye a bit into the future, where I'm retired and could read all day.

3.) What's something you have to do this week and don't want to?
I have a couple of orders at work that are pretty cool, but I'll have to deal with clients and I could do without that part. I was also dreading the dirty dishes this weekend, but when I got home last night I found my mom did them for me, so yay! (FYI, I did do a load of laundry and unclogged the sink in the bathroom, so not a complete slob;)

4.) What does your perfect Sunday look like?
Sleep in; have a fancy breakfast and a luxury shower; check online blogs, journals and communities; step away from computer to snuggle in loveseat with a book; maybe chat a bit later; go up to the attic to watch CSI or Westwing marathon; eat loads of chocolate in between. End the evening with some erotica ;)

Actually that pretty much sounds like most of my Sundays \o/

5.) Which CSI season is the best one?
Oooh, mean. If we're talking a whole season it's a toss up between S2 and S3, because I base my opinion on Nick/Greg and that was when they did their best flirting. *grins* After checking a couple of classics in my HUGE CSI archives, I remembered Nick had his best sideburns in the latter, so it's SEASON 3. (Not just my slashy goggles by the way, as that season also has awesome Grissom, and he was the reason I started watching CSI in the first place ;)

Happy coincidence: You can vote for your favorite Nick/Greg scene (out of S1 through S9) here!

6.) If you could sit down and have a talk with any bandom person, who would it be?
If we imagine a world in which I could have a civil conversation with anyone I have had pervy thoughts about, I'd pick Brendon Urie. Despite the issues that knocked him off his pedestool, I like to think we have a couple of things in common and I'd love to pick his brain about religion.

7.) Tell me something about you that I don't already know. :)
I once lost a job because of lewd behavior. *innocent face*

    Ahem.

And now for something completely different... I finally put up my Meet & Greet photo on my Panic! wall. )
    beelikej: (Guitarboy)
Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] aerynvala. In anticipation of the new Panic! at the Disco album, I figured I'd imagine a cover myself. Of a fake band:) I quite like how this turned out.

This bandname and albumtitle made me think of Opus - Life is Live. Heh. Austrian Europop-rock. Ahw. What can I say. I was a teenager in the eighties; I grew up on shitty music :-p

    Want to play?
    1. Go to Wikipedia.org. Select 'Random Article'. Whatever comes up is the name of your band.
    2. Go to quotationspage.com. Select 'Random Quote'. Choose any quote you like on the page, the last few words of the quote are your album title.
    3. Go to flickr.com. Select 'Explore'. Select 'Interesting photos from the last 7 days'. The third image is your album cover. Instead I went to their Creative Commons, Attribution/Non-Commercial License pages and just grabbed one off there. IDK, it's a small thing, but I figure better to use art/pics from people who permit it.
    4. Go to any photo editing site or use Photoshop/Gimp (it's free!)/..., and put your mad editing skillz to work.

My totally fake band's fake album cover art, thanks to:
    1. Niederhof on Wikipedia
    2. Quote from Oprah Winfrey:
"Understand that the right to choose your own path is a sacred privilege. Use it. Dwell in possibility."
    3. Photo by Plynoi (Photoshopped by me:)
    4. Fonts: vtks study (with a bit of fiddling;) & OCR A Std
    beelikej: (Swim)
Yes, I don't have to work this week. Which means I'll pop up on your flist more often than usual. After I wrote my bookreviews, I spent a lot of time on the couch watching tv. I plan to continue working on my to-do-list tomorrow, but I'm not making any promises...

If I ever needed to prove to anyone how good I am at stalling, I would point them to this meme. Early November I practically begged [livejournal.com profile] cali_cowgirl08 to let me play and even though she picked icons for me right away, I've been making her wait all this time for my response. I suck.

*Anyone wants to get this meme going again? I promise I'll hand out icons within a day;)
You're also welcome to scold me for being a bad flister or being in a fandom of a show I know nothing about. *hangs head*

Another meme! I've seen this one on my flist a couple of times now, but I think [livejournal.com profile] artistic_sillie was first:) I even managed to guess a couple here and there. \o/
Let's see how well you do!

    MusicMEME - Rules
Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Let everyone guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Bold the songs when someone guesses correctly.

Hey kids, stop snogging and pay attention to me )

MovieMEME! My lists were given to me by [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster

Comment here and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post the list in your LiveJournal with your favorite film(s) of theirs.

Of course I had to add a commentary. :-p

    Actors
Dennis Quaid - Innerspace / In Good Company
Ben Foster - X-Men: The Last Stand (Oh my)
    Timothy Hutton - Beautiful Girls
Daniel Craig - none (I avoid him - since Enduring Love (link to my review in Dutch;)
    Christopher Pine - n/a
Paul Walker - The Fast and the Furious *grins*
    Wesley Snipes - Demolition Man
William H. Macy - State and Main1 (all his films are favorites :)
Christopher Guest - This Is Spinal Tap (duh)
    Edward Norton - Fight Club

    Actresses
    Michelle Pfeiffer - Dangerous Liaisons
Jennifer Lopez - Out of Sight
Kathy Bates - Primary Colors (although she rocked in Misery, she is even more awesome in PC)
    Rosanna Arquette - Pulp Fiction
Catherine O'Hara - Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (her role is tiny, but this film is brilliant)
Kate Winslet - all of them Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Sarah Jessica Parker - I already picked State and Main1 above, so for SJP I choose Footloose2 \o/
Lena Olin - The Reader (I don't like her, but this is an excellent film)
Milla Jovovich - The Fifth Element
    Robin Tunney - n/a

1FIND THAT FILM AND WATCH IT, IT'S AWESOME

2"He's from out of town and don't tell me that doesn't curl your toes because I know it does."

Let's pretend you all asked for this;) A sequel to this desktop meme.

My desktop at work - with CSI subtext )

Yesterday I discovered I had a little caster sugar left, and I found a Mr Men recipe book in my little used cookbook collection. Look what I baked: Special cornflake cookies!
    beelikej: (Not funny)
Wow, a meme, that's been while. I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] artistic_sillie:)

    Rules:

    A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun.*

    B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.

    C. Tag five of your friends.

I think most of my friends already played, but consider yourself tagged if you haven't;)

Well... here it is... my desktop:

    Taadaah!

*Nope, I didn't remove any icons, I just don't have any, except for the "Prullenbak" (aka Garbage can/Recycle bin;). I guess I'm no fun? But hey, see that button on the bottom left with 'Start' on it? If you press that a convenient menu pops up where you can find all your programs and documents. I don't understand why people clutter their desktop; I don't want to cover up my Brendon! I resisted changing my good old Nick/Greg desktop for a long time (see icon), but eventually I couldn't deny my love for Panic At The Disco any longer;) I still have a CSI desktop at work. Yes, with subtext. \o/ I could do this meme again with that one, if anyone's interested *grins*.
