beelikejMom did come over for dinner and we both enjoyed my cauliflower oven dish (even though I forget to add the egg to the sauce, oops). Because of the flu she didn't stay for a film, but we did have enough time to catch up and I got to show her all the art thingies I'd been working on in January:) Somehow I forgot about Jeff floating high above on the ceiling, huh. We did have a good talk about kinks though *grins* Now that movienight is cancelled, I have time to do that 39 question meme that's doing the rounds on my flist...
1. How old will you be in 3 birthdays?
Ehm, *calculates* 48.
2. Do you think you'll be married by then?
Nope. Besides being a very dedicated single, marriage is just weird to me.
3. What do you look forward to most in the next 2 months?
Finishing art-projects; I'm anxious and excited to finally show my stuff.
4. Do you prefer shoes, socks, or bare feet?
Bare feet, but sadly it's too cold even inside to walk around bare foot, so big snuggly socks it is. I am a fan of funky shoes though:)
5. When was the last time you cried?
Actual tears most likely happened during pms part of the cycle; I don't cry that often anymore, but I'm pretty sure I choked up listening to this song from the Mountain Goats at New Year's. The chorus gets me every damn time and then I sing-along with a broken but loud voice: "I'M GONNA MAKE IT through this year if it kills me". *wipes away tears*
6. What was the last thing you drank?
Lemonade (green:) with dinner
7. Favorite ice cream?
ALL OF THEM. Every time I read someone else's answer I went "omg, me too"; lemon sorbet? -omg, me too!- triple chocolate? - omg, me too!- cookie dough? - omg me too! Basically any flavor but liquor or coffee related;)
If I had to pick one that wasn't mentioned yet, I'd go with typical Dutch flavor Stroopwafel.
8. What is your favorite number?
69 - not trying to be pervy, it's my birthyear;) When it comes to numbers under 10 it would be 8. I like the shape.
9. What's your favorite color?
Blue. No, green. No, blue. Turquoise!
10. What Jelly do you put on your PB&J?
Hahahaha, America, no. That is not a combination of flavors that works for me, whatever jelly you want to put on your too creamy peanutbutter. :-p
My favorite PB combination is with white bread and a big layer of butter underneath. My jelly/jam number 1 is Lemon curd and I recently rediscovered childhood favorite Rose hip, nommmm
11. What location(s) is/are on your bucket travel list?
India, Peru (Machu Picchu), Japan. I'd be okay if it didn't happen though; I've already been to all the locations on my original bucket list, I've done enough traveling to last me a lifetime;)
12. How many glasses of water a day do you drink on average?
3-4
13. What do you drink in the morning?
Orange Juice (with pulp:)
14. Would you rather kiss someone with or without tongue?

15. Do you sleep on a certain side of the bed?
I never know what exactly right and left are of a bed; do you stand at the foot-end or lie on your back with your head on the pillow when you pick a side? When I first got my double bed I stuck to one side until I realized the WHOLE BED WAS MINE! Now I spread out from the middle and wake up on either side.
16. Do you know how to play poker?
Vaguely
17. What's so good about Fridays?
For me it's the end of the working week, so around five o'clock it's frrrrrrrrreedom \o/
18. Any plans for this weekend?
See above; dinner and film with mom and some arting (tomorrow;)
19. Do you eat out or at home more often?
At home. I consider going out for dinner a rather fancy thing to do. (birthday and special occasions)
20. How big is your TV?
Not that big, it's one of those old ones with a huge bum, I inherited it from my grand-dad, it dates back to the late eighties. I hardly ever watch it anymore. I have a beamer and cinema screen in my attic for films and series *g*
21. Ever stolen a street sign?
Nope. I did buy one (legitimately) for my brother once; he turned it into a coffeetable top.
22. Do you keep a piggy bank?
Yep, although I hardly ever carry cash anymore, I do still save 1 and 2 euro coins. The 2 euro pig is an emergency arthouse fund, the 1 euro is surprise savings; I bought my permanent LJ-account with it back in the day!
23. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
Djeepers, I can't even remember kissing someone. My family hugs and I'm not a big fan of the Dutch three-kiss greeting, so I avoid that as much as possible - the answer to that question would be no. No offence to the last person, it's just not my thing.
24. Have you ever been in an ambulance?
Yep! In Watford, after I pulled my shoulder at the Harry Potter Experience. That was quite an ... experience.
25. Do you prefer an ocean or a pool?
Meh. Even if I swim in a pool I imagine wildlife. I guess the ocean is cooler (both litterally and figuratively:) and has better surroundings.
26. Do you prefer a window seat or an aisle seat?
Window; I want to see where I am (and if possible where I'm going:)
27. Do you know how to drive a stick shift?
Yep. It's the default in the Netherlands, but I haven't driven a car since I got my license over twenty years ago, so I would not take the driver's seat without a refresher course. I prefer to ride my bicycle anyway.

29. Do you wear any jewelry 24/7?
I was gonna say no, but then I remembered I have two piercings, those rings count as jewelry, right? One in my right eyebrow and a tiny one in my right trachus (that sticky out bit of the tube in your ear;)

English is another language for me, in daily life I speak Dutch. I also manage in German and very basic French. I took Spanish classes as an adult, those didn't stick.

YES! I have a big hippo, a kangaroo, a duck and two bears that I use as pillows. Okay, fine, I snuggle with them all. Shut up. It's nice.
34. Do you still have clothes from when you were little?
Yep, at least one box up in the attic and I have my first bikini framed up on the wall in my livingroom, with a photo next to it of me taking my first steps while wearing it. IT'S SO TINY!
35. What is the color of your bedroom wall?
One wall is purple, the other is white; I have one coloured wall in every room.
36. Do you shut off the water when you brush your teeth?
Yes. I'm shocked by this question.

So many people. But not you, never you.

Date: 2015-02-14 04:23 pm (UTC)I avoid indulging in stroopwafels, but they are seriously one of the best Dutch inventions. You can buy them superfresh at the market, where they will bake a supersized version while you wait and they come out hot and soft, mmmmm.
When I get the stroopwafel icecream, I combine it with mini-stroopwafels that I put in the microwave for a couple of seconds. It's a divine combination.
(If you ever come over, that will be dessert;)
