Did you know there are actually people who have not heard of pms? Well, I was stumped. I had to explain to the physical therapist what is was and how it caused a different pain in my back, which made it hard for me to single out the problem. I also had a bit of trouble laying on my stomach, well, on my boobs, because they are bloody sensitive and painful and huge at the moment. He must not have many women in his life or only those lucky few who do not get effected by hormons. Lucky man.
Anyway, he did pick up on my need for a massage and he totally made up for his ignorance;) Dude, can I have one of those for my birthday? Guh. Good.
After hours of bliss (or maybe it was thirty minutes, I lost all sense of time;) he hooked my back up to a LENS for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation aka electrocuting the hell out of the nerves to stimulate the production of painkillers. Mmmokay, whatever you want, magical hands-dude. It felt weird and a bit uncomfortable at first, but after I got used to the prickling sensation it was bearable. The massage was better;)
At the end he also showed me some exercises, nothing to strenuous, which proved he did understand this woman after all *g*
So: p-m-s. ( For those of you who haven't got a clue )
Besides all the pms-related fun it appears I've also got a touch of the (stomach)flu. I woke up in what seemed the middle of the night to stumble to the toilet with a bucket in front of me. I will not go into details -you're welcome-, but it was not pretty.
This morning I woke up feeling a little better, but still a bit feverish. My back is miraculously fine, although when I touch it, it feels like I've been hit by a truck and I had to check for bruises, but the guy's hands were really magical, because he didn't leave any marks;) I still need to do the exercises, but I think I can handle them now, because I'm definitely more flexible than I was. Wahey.
I'm almost finished moving the furniture from the wall I'm going to paint white (It's currently orangy on top with off-white romany columns at the bottom... I know. I didn't do it, it was like that when I got here;) I haven't decided on a second colour yet, maybe I'll just do a line across the whole length (FYI, measurements: 9.50 m long, 2.60 m high).
I've only been doing small tasks for the past week (like moving one piece of furniture a day) but I feel good enough to try painting the wall in one go. Depending how I feel I'm planning to do two coats today. But that might be too ambitious. Pictures of the process will follow. I now have to turn off the computer, because it needs to be moved. Oh dear.
