Aug. 2nd, 2012 09:55 pmMy table looks like something exploded and there are half filled open boxes all over the room, but I already feel very accomplished. Because today I started on the biggest summervacation project on my "I should really do this when I have time"-list: uncluttering my livingspace. I hadn't exactly planned to do that yet, but when I went to the supermarket this morning (another chore, yay, go me) I figured I'd save myself a shopping trip and get some storage boxes. Except that I didn't buy those, because I found a marvelous lime-green bookcase that was just perfect for those books that have been piling up on my dining table and it fit in my bicycle bag (It was a build-it-yourself set of shelves;) together with my groceries, while the boxes wouldn't, so I got that instead *grins*
When I got home I had to cool down first, so I sat down with a new BBfic. After about an hour I dozed off, not because of the story, but because I hadn't slept that great last night. I had been rudely awakened by a horrid thunderstorm three times, which had been rather nervewracking. But instead of taking an afternoon nap I decided to energize my body and I build that bookcase. Of course then I had to make room for it and that resulted in me totally redecorating the backroom. Heh.
My mom was kind enough to bring some temporary boxes, so I can sort things out until I get my own storage boxes. I separated all the stuff I found into 'trash', 'archive' and 'thrift shop'.
It's still not done, because I'm an excellent staller when it comes to throwing things out, but I did manage to collect half a bag of garbage already and I've said goodbye to about 50 of my old CSI-cdroms (since I have replaced those files with official DVDs now;).
I hope to be able to sort out the mess on the table tomorrow and continue the project in my spare-room, which I eventually want to convert to a library. (Don't worry, I won't move the bed, so you can still sleep over if you want;)
