I have plans. With people even.
Jan. 27th, 2009 09:31 pmThanks to everyone who voted in the where should J. go poll! This weekend I still hadn't decided what to do, especially since going through travelbrochures for inspiration mostly gets me foaming around the mouth because of all the ridiculous additions single travelers have to pay. I also got cranky because there is no guarantee whatsoever that I will end up in the kind of room I want, even if I'm picking the most expensive hotel out there. I swear it was so much easier when I was still backpacking and willing to stay where-ever as long as I could dump my luggage and had a roof over my head.
Aaaaaaanyway. I was bitching to my mom about this and then she offered to go with me.
...
Wow. That came out of nowhere. But I kind of liked the idea. I'm not easy company, so it's pretty brave of her to want to join me. With two people making arrangements through a travel agent is much easier. (The world is made for pairs) So, ehm, we booked already: four days to Istanbul. In a hotel. With a bath. Wahey!
Time to hit the bookstore and read up on the city, so we can plan where to go:)
My mom wasn't the only one who made a brave promise this week; Jelle is coming over for Valentine's weekend. We willwallow in celebrate our single-status by watching pulpy-movies. WIN!
