Brilliant weekend (and Artrecs!)
Jan. 9th, 2011 04:26 pmHad a marvelous weekend with Jelle. We spent a lot of time talking about life, movies and books, as you do. Of course we also did some sort of marathon on the big screen. He brought the Season 2 DVD of Beautiful People (UK); we watched all 6 episodes in one go, it was brilliant.
For some reason we came to talk about JDM and Jelle told me how he had loved this banter between Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Craig Ferguson. So I made him watch The Accidental Husband with JDM, Uma Thurman and Colin Firth, which he of course loved.
I also forced him to sit down for Tim Minchin's So Fucking Rock show. Jelle was enthralled from the opening act on, so that was another win \o/
Before finally stumbling to bed around 02.00 we watched vids on YouTube; amongst other things loads of music from Morrissey. I had to finish our night with that SPN S5 gag reel and Jensen's cheeky -ehm- wink *grins* (see 4:50 - 5:01).
I waved Jelle goodbye around noon (for his benefit I admired his fancy new car, even though I have no knowledge or interest beyond its colour;).
This afternoon I continued my effort of catching up with the wonderful artwork in the
spn_reversebang. I spent two hours and found loads of stuff I recommend you take a look at:
Reverse Bang Artwork Reclist, the third
And of things that will bite by
becc_j - Painted banners and drawn illustrations. This is magnificent artwork; the blue paintings are beautiful and the red drawings are stunning. Those red designs hit me hardest; the colours and composition add to the overwhelming emotional content of the images.
A Vision of Black Steel by
smut_slut - Dark and smokey photocollages. I was pleasantly surprised by the scenes that are almost hidden in the smokey backgrounds. These designs made me shiver with fear and desire. A delicious combination:)
Ashes by
dollarformyname - Brilliant banners and icons. This has great use of colours. The composition in the main banner immediately drew me in. The lettering is great too, I think it especially works great on the smaller banner, which has kind of a moviefeel to it. I love this whole set.
With Your Angels Hold Us by
orukaz - Stunning manga style drawings. THIS is a perfect example of artwork that DESERVES MORE COMMENTS. Seriously: why is there not more praise? I can't even put into words how much in awe I am of these drawings.
Also check out this set of Crowly, Gabriel, a hellhound and cake by
orukaz Drawings in seemingly simple black and white lines with a delicious pink background. These images are so much FUN! I don't even need the story; I can imagine the whole universe and relationship from these drawings alone.
Hot for Teacher by
maichan808 - Fresh comic style set of artwork. Such amazing drawings and the colours are superb. A special shout out for the scourging hot make out scene; hello there bitable buns!
Plastic Spoons (Balloons) by
ordinaryink - Colourful drawings in markers/pens and watercolors. These make me feel all nostalgic for some reason. It's all so adorable and the design of these drawings is perfect. *chinhands*
P.S. Of course Jelle and I also exchanged a couple of books; I updated my readinglist:)
And now I will sit down and read for a bit before starting on my finances. (I plan to move all my accounts to a bank that doesn't make me throw up in my mouth)

Date: 2011-01-09 06:22 pm (UTC)I found that the new bank will do a lot of transferring for you; over here they will take care of all the automatic payments from the old account for 13 months, so you have time to check if everything is getting paid.
I took step 1 today and applied for a new account at a bank that seems worthy of dealing with my money. (It's a big step though: I've been with my current bank since I opened my first account, which is a very VERY long time)
