Yes, another artworkpost! Bet you didn't even have a chance to check out my previous one*:) Yet I'd still like to present my work for the
spn_cinema challenge:

Title: It's like you escaped from a Hallmark card or something
Artist:
beelikej
Movie Prompt: Enchanted
Pairing: Jensen/Jared (friendship or more;)
Rating: G
Summary: Fairytale Prince Jared ends up in the real world apartment of divorce lawyer Jensen, who doesn't believe there is such a thing as happily ever after.
Notes: Of course I couldn't resist manipulating the original filmposter and making a J2 banner out of it, but I was inspired by the film's mix of animation and the real world to also try something completely different this time:)
I experimented with a more creative way than simply fiddling with photos* and made sort of a collage using different techniques. Before I show you the final result, let me share the sketching process:

I traced a screencap from the film in Illustrator.

and did the same for Jensen's face with a screencap from Supernatural.
I then decorated the image with photos from my own curtains, floor, lamp and bookshelf. The view from the window is The Hague (it stands in for New York City, where the movie takes place;). The clouds are from my hometown though.
Tadaah:

I imagine Jensen trying to prevent Jared from coming near the curtains again and getting ready to bitch about what he did, but Jared protesting that he needs a belt to complete his outfit ;o)
As a bonus I'm posting a wallpaper version of the banner and a film-poster with Mike Rosenbaum as the evil Queen.
Wallpaper (1024 x 768)

Filmposter

Thank you's and sources.
You can find all the original material and references, including screencaps from the film and Supernatural, in my Source post.
I thank the mods of the
spn_cinema for organizing this wonderful challenge. I'd also like to mention
bflyw, who inspired me to try this different approach by showing that thinking outside the box is not only scary but also very liberating.
Of course I also thank YOU for stopping by:) If you leave me a comment, I'll even give you a personal thanks! (No matter what you want to say about my artwork *g*)

*Pssst, in the mood for more?
Last time I put eyeliner on JDM for my J3 version of Pirates of the Caribbean;)
And just last Friday I presented my artwork for the ReverseBang! (Also featuring JDM;)

I really like the first image, like it's in a mirror frame or something and the movie post is just too awesome for words. More LMAO for Mike as the evil witch. (My mom was downstairs and heard me laugh and she asked what was so funny and I had to tell her she would never understand - 'cause she wouldn't. Besides the fact that she doesn't know who any of these people are or seen the movie Enchanted, she wouldn't get the hilariousness of Michael Rosenbaum as the witch.)
Great work... and now I must go check out JDM with eyeliner!!!!!!!

Date: 2011-11-14 09:26 pm (UTC)Thank you for your wonderfully detailed comment! I did indeed think of the frame in context with a magical mirror, as that is often used as a connection between two worlds. I was thrilled when I realized I had a frame that would fit perfectly. \o/
I knew Michael Rosenbaum long before I knew Jensen/Jared (from "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane";) and I adore him in interviews*. He would be the perfect megalomaniacal queen;)
JDM and eyeliner would so be my OTP if it ever happened for real.
*Did you ever see him in MTV's Cribs? A very memorable episode.

Date: 2011-11-21 11:03 am (UTC)I truly like it! And I love how you describe what you have done! :-)
Your photoshop work is just getting so good! The filmposter is especially good!
I haven't seen the original fim, is it any good?

Date: 2011-11-21 09:37 pm (UTC)Thanks for your comment, I really tried to follow your example and approach it as an artproject for myself and I had such fun figuring out the new techniques (so many masks, oh boy:)
Ooooh, it's a lovely film. I think Amaya may still be a bit too young, but it's such a cute fairytale. It's as well a parody as an ode to Disney's animated musicals. I recommend it to young and old:)

Date: 2011-11-21 09:53 pm (UTC)It's about time I check it out!
The rating is set to "7 years" in Norway - which means that Amaya could have seen it in the cinema if she went with a grown-up (you can see the film upto 2 years earlier if you go with a grown up). She has seen, and enjoyed, many 7 yr films already (like Ice Age etc), so maybe she would like it?
That is - if the film is dubbed to Norwegian - she doesn't read yet, nor does she understand English :-)
