Had such a marvelous day with the family yesterday. I went to The Hague to visit nephew Ruben, but of course also to see SIL Gayleen and my brother Jaap *g*. Brotherdearest Hans also came over from Amsterdam to tell us all about his month in Japan. Because Jaap had to work we didn't see him until dinnertime, but the rest of us spent a whole afternoon on the beach, which was awesome.



I warned you about the cute. May I introduce you to my nephew Ruben?
He's 20 months old now and already such a charmer. (born December 2010:)


Uncle Hans had brought him a present from Japan; that bunny is known worldwide as Miffy, but we teach Ruben the original Dutch name Nijntje;)


Mmmmm, apple sauce.


After lunch it was time for the beach! As soon as Ruben was out of his buggy, he ran to the sea! Luckily Uncle Hans grabbed him before he got his clothes wet:)


We put the towels down near this sign; there are images of characters from Dick Bruna all over the beach.


Then Gayleen got Ruben ready for the beach:)


Heehee, as soon as Ruben had his trunks on, he was off again!


He's very fast:)

One last dip in the water before going home.


A day at the beach makes you hungry! (LIGA, yay) So how cute are his crocks with actual crocodile eyes? Yeah.


Being able to cuddle with that adorable nephew of mine sure made me feel better about life again. Hope these photos put a smile on your face too.
