Rosa obviously thinks we are hungry all the time: she makes three meals a day and it's a lot of food. Yesterday evening we had a starter (potatoe-soup) a maincourse (pasta with fish) and desert (big chunk of chocolate cake). This morning breakfast is equally satisfying: toast (the healty brown kind of bread!), tea and a delicious 'smooty' made of mango and tomato de arbol (tree-tomatoes). And to complete the food-report: for lunch I ate a big bowl of soup filled with potatoes and rice plus a large piece of watermelon. I'm full:-)

This morning I walked to school with Helene for my first Spanish classes. Because the school didn't expect me to start until tomorrow, they have improvised my schedule for today: I start with grammar from profesora Maribel, but after I explain to her that I would like to focus on conversation, we walk to the nearby market while talking about family and traveling. At the end we practised some verbs. After that I was put in an official conversation groupclass with Gil and Tom from Luxembourg. Two very intense hours with profesora Maria Menes and I even got homework: eeep.

After the aforementioned lunch I went back to the market to get a bag for my books. This *bolsa* is also a bit less touristy than my daypack. After all I'm standing out enough already being a giant ;-)

I also allow myself a visit to the internetcafe to mail my family.

Since the panic-attack from last night I'm graduately starting to feel more confident. Speaking Spanish is already getting easier and even though it's still not too impressive at least I'm improving myself and everybody is very nice and patient.

It's a nice change from regular traveling (backpacking in hostels) to have a room of my own, not to mention my own bathroom (shower, sink and toilet, in which you can't throw paper by the way: after wiping you have to put it in the bin, that is luckily emptied and cleaned every day) as well as a walk-in closet! I also have my own key of the apartment.

I think I will survive the coming two weeks:-)

Next day: Being high is not a good thing
